  • L-Carnitine

I saw the Dr. A recommended this but I am not sure what exactly its purpose is. Does anyone out there take it? Does it work? Is it worth the money? Just wondering. Thanks

    Re: L-Carnitine

I take it. It assists fatty acids being transported to the mitochondria. The best way I have found to describe it is that it adds coal cars to the freight train going to the town's power plants. CoQ-10 is associated with it as that supplement aids in the metabolization of fatty acids to energy molecules. Following the above analogy, it adds more power plants to each town -- enabling more energy to be produced.

I would recommend purchasing Dr. Atkins book Vita-nutrient Solution. It goes into great detail about all different types of vitamins, minerals, herbs and supplements. I also have the book the Vitamin Bible by Mindell for reference.

If you ever see any fat loss products on the market, they all contain L-Carnitine and Chromium. I take both. L-Carnitine isn't cheap though
