  • Dissapointing Induction

    Hey Guys,

I started induction on April 19th and ended May 2nd. My TOM came in between and I only lost 10 pounds. I have been exercising, but I think I am eating "hidden" sugars. I order wings from this place, and they SAY there is no sugar in the seasoning, and I was eating Mickey D's sausage and eggs for breakfast every morning. I stopped with the cheese and the splenda, but I think I am going to have to go hardcore. I stopped with the Mickey D's, the hot wings and the half and half in my coffee. I am hoping to drop 15 pounds by month end....I am losing inches too, so I am ok with that. I will not give up though.

Well, in all honesty the average loss for induciton is 5-10% of your overall loss. So, if you are looking to lose about 140 pounds........... looks to me like you are doing fine!
Also, we have had many people lose very little on induction and then continue on to be "big" losers!
CONGRATULATIONS! And keep up the great work!
I would check out the Mickey'D's website and see just what is in ALL their foods!

Thank you for the kind words.
I have looked at McD's website and looked at the carbs, but I think there are hidden ingredients that are making me stall. I know the half and half and splenda may be the cause. I am just going to elimate stuff day by day until I find the root of my "slow loss"

I'm also having a slow induction, so I'm sticking with it. I'm not sure how long I'm going to stay on it, but I believe I may have some metabolic resistance issues. My atkins journal recommends to stay in induction until the metabolic issues correct themselves. Maybe this could be part of your problem as well?

10 pounds isn't a problem at all! It's not even healthy to lose more than that. 10 pounds is right on target with what induction is supposed to do. So, I would be hesitant to solve a problem that more than likely doesn't exist in the first place.

Only 10lbs??? That is GREAT! Everyone's body is different.. Are you measuring your body? I have been on Atkins for 6 weeks and have "only" lost 16lbs.. But as you can see in my pictures its showing.. I personally would try to eat more stuff at home.. Less processed stuff. I mean when you have to eat out you have too.. But some breakfast stuff can be cooked ahead.. There are different breakfast casseroles you can bake and eat on all week. That way you know whats in it.. I am not a big salad person.. So when I do have to eat out that is usually what I get.

You can do it! Keep doing it..

Aw thanks guys. I guess I'm just comparing myself to Iyaisaf, but then again she is young enough to be my daughter (almost) so I know my metabolism is partly to blame. I am certainly not going to stop what I am doing. I have let go of the McD's at seems as if I am already releasing more weight. I just have to discipline myself to get to my kitchen 5 minutes earlier.

Hi I have to agree with everyone - 10 lbs is fantastic!

I would however lose the MacDonalds for ever - it is just eugh! you could have so much more LOVELY legal foods instead of it!

The half and half milk isn't legal either - so treat your self to a drop of cream in your decaf coffee - it is yummy!

                        Hey UK,

Yes I am happy to report that I have dropped the half and half and the Mickey D's...and the stall has stopped. I am starting to drop like 12 oz. a day again. It's just amazing how sensitive our bodies are. I have also changed my workouts to sculpting with weight lifting instead of aerobics for a few weeks. I am trying to thrawt extra loose skin. I have also been taking flaxseed oil pills as well.

                        Thanks everyone
