Ok i have been doing this long eneough i should know the answer to this. I know we dont count calories, but i want to see what i should be getting daily, and not sure how i go about this, i have been eating between 2000-2200 a day, and i excercise pretty much regularly now, so just want to know how do i figure what my calorie base should be to lose weight, i have been losing inches which im ecstatic about, but just want to make sure im doing everything right. Now my percentages for carbs are still at 5%, and im thinking on moving up to 30 net carbs with just the extra veggies, so should my carb percentage go up as well!!

Re: question about calories
Hi, Lisa...
This is the website Julie told us about:
http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/
First, you find your BMR and then use the Harris-Benedict equation for find your daily calorie needs.
With regard to the percentages... while I have added in more carbs from veggies (this is my 7th week on OWL first rung and I eat between 18 and 22 net veggie carbs daily), I don't get real hung up on the percentages. As long as I am close to the same ratio between the fat and protein as before, I don't sweat the small changes in the percentage numbers.
Maybe someone who tracks that part closer can help you? I think you are going to like the added variety more veggies bring... I know I do! Best wishes to you on your journey!

Re: question about calories
Lisa,
as you go up in carbs, your ratio of fat should go DOWN proportionately. Protein should always stay around 30%.~Joy

Re: question about calories
Good to know! My protein is a little low, then. I'll work on that. Thanks, Joy.Originally posted by ValidRougeLisa,
