  • Induction T-10 plus a question for the pros...

Well, today is day 14 and I lost 10 pounds. I am a happy girl but I do have a question for pros.

If I continue with induction style eating, will I lose significant muscle? That's something I don't want and wondered what I can do to offset this, if possible.

I have about 40 pounds to lose but I want to keep all the muscle I do have...

    Please help...thanks in advance.

Congrats on your loss. You've lost about 10% of the weight you want to lose. So good job!

Staying on Induction 'longer' doesn't guarantee a faster weight loss or an easier weight loss. Dr. Atkins wrote that the only people who may benefit from staying on Induction longer are people who have a high metabolic resistance to weight loss, as defined in the charts in the book. With your loss, you don't have it. So staying on Induction longer won't give you any added benefits. In fact, some folks who unnecessarily stay on Induction hit weight loss plateaus that are only broken by moving to the On-Going Weight Loss Phase of Atkins.

And the longer you stay on Induction, the less likely you are to create proper eating habits that will help you keep it off permanently. It's more of a "crash diet" mentality.

        Thank you both your responses.

I am going to move to that by adding some berries and some nuts to my diet...plus add some nice green leafy vegatables too. I found induction very easy as I like protein and I don't think I am a carbo freak...but I do want this to be a lifetsyle and not a glutton-fest which got me to the place I am.

You might be better advised to follow the suggestions in DANDR and start by adding 5 net carbs of your induction vegetables first. If you add foods from several 'rungs' at the same time, even if you stick to 5 net carbs in total of them you will not know which affects you (if any).

Read the threads in the OWL forum that show you how to start for some examples of how to do this.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!
