    Well I decided today to input some stuff into fit day to see where I was calorie and Carb wise.. BOY are my calories low.. Under 1000... I didn't realize that.. My carbs are okay at 25....

    I eat all day long.... And I am not starving..

    But now I know why my weightloss is slow..

    Under 1000? Girl, you do need to start adding some more to eat, more chicken, more sausage and eggs, etc. My problem is mine is always too high, and I'm trying to get it down. Lucky you!

      Sandy,

      Are you remembering to subtract the fiber from the total carbs to get your net carbs?

        Hi Sandy,
        I have been having the EXACT same problem. Didn't really pay attention to the calories until I started reading about the Atkins Attack challenge and what it had in there about the BMR! In the challenge you are supposed to consume AT LEAST you basal metabolic rate! Who knew? I sure didn't. So I am definitely paying closer attention now! I think we are in the same boat....going down..down...then unexplained gain of 3 to 5 pounds for no apparent reason right? Hopefully this is the issue...

          Yes, you need to eat more! 1000 calories for a period of time will get you to starvation mode which will cause your body to hold on to fat, not burn it. Try adding a snack or a fatty, high calorie additive, like olive oil or mayo.

          Can you post a daily menu?

            This is such an important point! We learned this in the Veggie Challenge...what a difference it makes.

            Great post Sandy....the whole BMR and calories is something a lot of people probably don't realize, and if they never go to the Atkins Attack thread to read about it, might not know it.
            Reading it here will probably help a lot of people. And if it points them to the Atkins Attack challenge thread, all the better. It's motivating just to read that thread.

              Sandy...I struggle daily to meet my BMR calorie demands, but fitday is absolutely the best at keeping me on track. I think I might be a fitday addict, but it has been one of the best tools I have ever used to keep account of cals, carbs, fats, exercise, etc. I love it when I see my percentages come out just right!

              Keep using fitday and you will see a difference in your weightloss!




              1st mini goal- 225 lbs.-Done!
              2nd mini goal-199 lbs.-Done!
              3rd mini goal-189 lbs.-Done!
              4th mini goal- 179 lbs.

                I forgot to add the Olive Oil that I used...so that upped one day to 1400

                  I was going through my book again the last couple of days..and in Induction Dr.A says not to worry about calories... Can someone tell me where in the book it says to eat at your basal metabolic rate? And I forgot how I am suppose to find that..

                  Now I am worried I am starving myself and going to stall soon...lol Although I don't know how I can say I am starving.. I eat 3 or 4 eggs every morning...Meat and some kind of veggies for lunch.. Meat and some kind of veggies for dinner.. If I am hungry I eat some extra meat for lunch..

                          I did.. I went through the whole thing

                          Like my favorite breakfast is Boiled eggs..and I always add butter for the fat... Going to make a muffin in a minute too.. so hopefully I can get my calories up today...
