  • Bathroom breaks

I absolutely love water. For years it's been my main choice of beverage (w/ beer & milk following closely behind). But until I started trying to pay attention to my diet, I never really followed the rule about how much of the liquid you should really take in. Now that I am following Atkins, I am drinking 80oz+/day, however I find myself in the bathroom more than I do as I were to drink a twelve pack of light beer. Can someone please tell me if there's a point where my body isn't constantly going to be begging me to hit up the john?

      Re: Bathroom breaks

Oh, I heard/seen a lovely comment about things like this this week it's, "you're mileage may very", and I think it applies to drinking water too.

Some day your bladder will be able to "get use to it", and if you're like me (for women, after having kids, even when you sneeze you have to cross your legs) I go constantly. All in all, I think it's best to go as you need to in order to avoid kidney/blatter issues if you're holding it all day long

Great job drinking your water, though!

I never drink water, never... tea, coffee, juice but never water. Drinking all this water is the hardest part of the diet (after Inducton) for me. I finally time it, 1 glass each hour. So by 8:00 I have to have drunk 8 glasses...but.... now I have to go to the washroom very often. And every time I go afterwards I drink another glass, take advantage of my empty tummy.... I really don't think I will be different any time soon.

Your body will adapt. I drank (when I started) almost 220 oz everyday. I was waking up all hours of the night, then one day, it adapted.

              Re: Bathroom breaks

Hopefully my body will just get used to it. Looking online I found that supposedly the body does get used to it and this is reffered to as the "breakthrough point". I coudn't find any hard evidence to back up any claims though.
