hi ok, went to the doctor as some of you may know i was going to get blood work done, well they did an urine analysis and everything came back negative, no blood in urnine, or sugar but i did have protein in my urine, something i have never had, and all he said was to come back in two weeks to do another one, but to make sure i drink plenty of water and if it comes back again with protein in it, then they will do the 24hr test, now as if my anxiety was not already bad, it is ten times worst, i have no idea should i be worried, of course he says not to worry yourself but he must not know who he is talking to. All i do know is when my dad was in the hospital right before he passed he had protein in his urine which was not a good sign. Also he said that they will have to do more test if my liver comes back showing fat in it, something i was told after some blood work was done in the ER, is that i have a fatty liver, so we will have to get to the bottom of this if it comes back fatty. Ok im a hypochondriac and constantly worry about my health this is like my biggest nightmare is for things to come back and we have to do more test, always scared of finding out something is seriously wrong. The protein in the urine is got me scared and so anxious, have any of you had this happen.

Re: scared and confused
Lisa, you needn't be scared by this initial anomaly. It may turn out to be nothing. Here's a quote from a medical site I looked up.
Transient Protein in the Urine
Transient proteinuria is the most common cause of proteinuria and been estimated to affect between 4-7% of people. It is a temporary process that is thought to be caused by fever, heavy exercise, and other benign conditions. The amount of protein in the urine is relatively small and usually resolves pretty quickly.
I also want to tell you that a low-carb diet is excellent for fatty liver. I have a friend who was diagnosed with fatty liver, so I did a lot of research and even emailed Dr. Michael Eades (co-author of Protein Power) for information. He confirmed for me that eating high fat does not have anything to do with fatty liver disease and that a low-carb diet is the best way to eat.
So, calm down and wait until your follow up before you get crazy.

Re: scared and confused
Im trying to breathe, as i sit here im becoming more and more anxious, dont know if i can wait it out, i feel like everything is on hold right now. I wish it didnt take so long for blood results to come back, and with it being the weekend coming up, it could be tuesday or wednesday to get them back. Im thinking of upping my veggie intake some more, just to make sure im getting all my nutrients and cut back some on the protein, i do eat a good bit, not sure if that can cause anything or not, like i said im overwhelmed right now and just want to lay down and call it a day.
