  • It Was So Easy!!!!

    happy thursday!!! thursday is my favorite day of the week. i have a tale of cake today. each month our office staff celebrates all the birthdays of the month with HOMEMADE birthday cakes.....so today, unknowingly, i went into the staff lounge and lo and behold...there sat an array of beautiful cakes...including...dum dum dum dum.....the famous yellow cake with chocolate icing.

    i took one look and walked right on by. it was not until i got BACK TO MY CLASS to work that it dawned on me...."you did not stop and even THINK about that cake!" before you would have debated...yes? no? it is so automatic now NOT to put that junk in my body!!!!

    i share this little tale of cake with all of my friends here NOT because i want you to pat me on the head and tell me i am a good little girl (altho i AM!) i want ANYONE who is FRUSTRATED to know that IT GETS EASIER. let your body be the boss. STICK WITH AND WORK THE PLAN AND IT WILL WORK FOR YOU....and that is a quote from my dear friend miss jess. you will learn NOT to miss what is BAD for your body. old habits die hard. you might be feeling like you will never "get there"....please trust me atkins buddies.....JUST DO IT. i wish i could give you a money back guarantee but i can't....just my word that if you follow the plan, treat your body right, you are going to feel AMAZING! being free of sugar has made the biggest difference in the way i feel...HANG IN THERE FRIENDS!

    MS I agree! I walk past that junk in the teacher's lounge, all those donuts and strudels and cakes and cookies without a second glance. It doesn't look like real food to me (and it isn't REAL food by my definition anyway!) so I don't think twice. Do I need it? Nope. Do I want it? Nope.

    In fact, I once had a piece of german chocolate cake on my desk for hours (and overnight) and didn't realize it was food until the next morning. THen I threw it away.

      Just a warning for the newbies: You WILL get to the point where you walk on by that junk, but beware that you might think it is safe to have a bite because you aren't actually craving it - you just wonder what it tastes like. DON'T! For some, it will instantly trigger the worst craving and crash you've EVER had, for others, it will be the most VILE thing you've ever tasted because it is so sickeningly sweet. YUCK! It's certainly not worth it, just enjoy being able to walk on by and not really want it.

        It is so true...The ability to say NO will be so much easier after the first couple of weeks... It gets easier and easier..
