  • Crap, I feel like I am slipping

Dang, I feel to bake a TON of double choco cookies and eat them all. I feel for cake, I feel for icecream. I normally DONT EAT or like sweets, but I am under some emotional and mental stress and I know this is the reason. I dont want to do this, but one arm tells me head to the kitchen and bake like I never baked before

Can someone be nice to Give me a good ticker for weight loss?

Re: Crap, I feel like I am slipping

Get out of the house!!!! Go for a walk and remind yourself of the goal you have. I to am an emotional eater and I have learned to have a conversation with myself. I realize that whatever food that is tempting me will probably taste wonderful for that moment that I am eating it. I then remind myself of all the moments that I have stood in front of the mirror and not liked what I saw, or when I pull on my pants and they don't fit well. Those are moments that I don't want to have any longer and so the food that is tempting me is just NOT worth all those other bad feelings! Find something else that satisfies the emotional urge.

Resist the urge! Get your mind off of baking, keep yourself busy doing something else.

Remember what lots on this board have for their signatures and that is

"NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN LOOKS"

Well, it goes something like that...not sure I got the quote 100% right but you get the idea.

And go here for a ticker for weight loss. www.tickerfactory.com

Hang in there! You can do it.

i hope you took the advice to get out of the house or get some exercise in. when these feelings arise, maybe it's because you ate something that triggered a crave. was that the case?

Run. Don't walk out of the house and away from the emtional attachment you have from food, run! Don't forget to check out your menu over the past couple of days to see if there's some trigger foods that may have caused you to want to tear in the sugar cased foods.

          Hang in there!

Re: Crap, I feel like I am slipping

            Hi

I am shocked at the replies, I initially put this in my journal becuase I felt embarassed to post it here. I didnt have eggs so I couldnt bake like I wanted to. I am hungy and only see and smell chocolate cookies. I managed to not leave the house as it is pouring down rain, but got a call from somone and spent 4 hours talking until I was EXHAUSTED and didnt feel to eat anymore even though I am still hungry, maybe I will eat an avocado, even tho the choco cookies sounds A WHOLE LOT better.

And yes, I will eat them then HATE MYSELF and the scale the next day, then my husband has to hear me gripe. Checked my trigger foods. I had lots of tomatoes, apples and two glasses of champagne in the past week, and oh, I stole some pasta while making hubby a pasta salad so I THINK the sugar is definitely in the apples and the champagne

Oh, and I had carrots and peas too from his pasta salad JUST a spoon full but I was like going mad for it it was just a tablespoon or so

Can someone be nice to Give me a good ticker for weight loss?

Hi pipsqueak. Sounds like you had a bad few days. Drink loads of water and you'll be fine. At least you've recognised that the champagne and apples were not a good idea for you. Take one day at a time and be cheat free.
              Good luck.

I make sure I have "legal" desserts in the house at all times. Pumpkin cheesecake is my favorite to have on hand and is induction legal. Takes care of that need to bake too! Keep plugging away, and you'll find your cravings head south if you stay away from those bites of bad stuff!!

Re: Crap, I feel like I am slipping

                  Pipsqueak,
I understand the baking thing, believe me, I do. I have a professional kitchen aid six quart mixer and know how to use it lol. I do not know how to bake a regular batch of cookies and during the holidays, I used to bake amazing amounts of stuff. Used to. That is going to be in the past. If I want to be healthy and well I have to relearn how to bake and only make things that are low carb, cheese cake for one. It is an adjustment but quess what, that fancy mixer makes great whipped cream so it will make great sugar free whipped cream for jello as well. I am going to change the way I cook and "bake". If I can do it, anyone can. My husband and I decided we wanted to be healthy and fit and live a long healthy life, not be sick and on a ton of meds like all our parents, three before they died, the surviing one has diabetes, has had and survived cancer, has high blood pressure and is on potassium for a chronic serious defieceny. We do not want drugs to line the top of our fridge like they do hers.
Is it easy, no, but it gets easier every day and the better I feel, the easier it gets .
You can do it, you are worth the effort and you can learn to make all kinds of great low carb meals and goodies.
The best tip of all, that makes all the differance to us, is have a bunch of low carb food made up, We barbeque once a week and make up a ton of stuff and put them in zip bags and I hard boil eggs and I keep frozen good quality hamburger patties and turkey patties ready to cook up at moments notice. It can make the differance when you are hungry or feeling week.
Just do not cheat, even a little, do not taste others food, do not lick fingers when cooking foods you cannot eat and just have plenty of low carb snacks and meals ready at all times.
You can do it, believe me, if this baker can give it up, anyone can lol !!!

Hi Pipsqueak! I'm glad you worked your way through those cravings.

Re: Crap, I feel like I am slipping

Yea for figureing out what the problems were by reviewing what you've eaten...and double yea for spending time with a friend, allbeit 4 hours LOL. But it worked! Keep working on the emotional eating aspect with the foods you chose to eat to lose weight and focus on the exercise with drinking your water!

                      Best wishes
