In all seriousness, I am confessing - I ate the crusts off my kids pizza today at the amusement park... Yes I caved for amusement park pizza - how pathetic! I'm embarassed so I feel the need to come clean - the rest of the day was good but I still feel BAAAAD for cheating.

Re: how many carbs in pizza crust???
do you feel bad enough to not let it overtake you agian?
the crust isn't even the best part! give me the pepperoni, the peppers, the meat and the cheese!

Re: how many carbs in pizza crust???
see I've been known to "skin a pizza" - take the cheese and pepperoni off (leaving the plain crust much to my husband's dismay!) but it was the crust that I was missing...
It wasn't worth it and I won't do it again. But sometimes I think you need to go back just to be sure you aren't missing what you aren't having anymore...that is my theory at least.

Re: how many carbs in pizza crust???
I have taken the toppings off 4 slices of pizza and piled them on ONE slice of thin crust pizze before. Made a nice meal. I think it had 13 carbs, or something like that. I stay in ketosis, make sure my carbs are under 20 a day, and have success despite my alterations. I didn't eat the back of the crust (the big tube-like part), just the part that holds the toppings.

Please do not let the guilt ruin your plan...Drink lots of water and get back on track.. You don't know how many times I have wanted to take my kids crust.. Everyone says you can eat the toppings.. I have always loved the crust.. I am going to have to fix a legal pizza soon cause I have been wanting one badly...Originally posted by dimar97In all seriousness, I am confessing - I ate the crusts off my kids pizza today at the amusement park... This post worries me greatly. What stage of the diet are you on?Originally posted by liftinguruI have taken the toppings off 4 slices of pizza and piled them on ONE slice of thin crust pizze before. Hmmm, not sure why it would worry you! As I have devised my own diet plan based on Atkins and other ketogenic diets, I cannot say which stage I am in, although it is most closely related to induction with my daily carb intake.Originally posted by RichtThis post worries me greatly. The reason I said it was worrying me is because you are allowing yourself pizza crust seemingly during the first two weeks of induction (hence your 20 carb limit). And obviously not following the Atkins diet 100%. Obviously this is your choice, and I wish you all the best with it. I didn't realise that was what you were doing. thats all.
For anyone else thinking of starting or just starting the Atkins WOE, please note that you arent meant to eat pizza bases on this diet.

I realize Atkins doesn't allow a lot of things, however I have never stalled with a few cheats, and of course cheating a little is better than cheating a lot. So, my suggestion of piling toppings on one slice of pizza is better than eating all 4 with the crust. In a pinch, it works. All or nothing is a sure fire way to go way off the diet and then feel really guilty later, and possibly stalling weight loss (or whatever the goal may be). His "medical" reason for not allowing bread on induction is that it increases cravings--if you ignore that and just count carbs you should be fine with one slice of thin crust, assuming you can control any cravings that do result. I'm not suggesting anyone else do this--it's just the way that I do it.
