It is about my 5th week on the plan now, and I have to say its getting pretty easy to say no to bad foods now. I don't really think about them, or if I do all I can think about is how sick I would feel to eat them. I was faced with turning down quite a bit of items that I used to love because my boss doesn't listen to me.... lol...
Granted, I only see my boss on Mondays and half of Tuesdays, but since he only has 7 employees and I'm the only female I would think it wouldn't be too hard for him to remember that I'm on Atkins. He's been pushing crap at me for several weeks... candy, soda, pizza. Last week he told me he likes to buy coffee before work and he would bring me one this week, he asked what I wanted. I just politely told him no thank you, I'm not eating sugar. (Even after saying that like 10 times before, lol)
Well of course this morning he comes in and has a hot chocolate for me. I told him, but I can't drink that... Then he tries to convince me that most places use sugar free hot chocolate... lol, like I was going to buy that. I don't know if hes just trying to be nice or if this is his way of hitting on me.
So then lunch rolls around and he announces hes gonna get lunch for us today. Again, he asks what I want. I told him chicken. He comes back with fried chicken (I ended up peeling the breading off and eating this), orange chicken from Panda...(My old favorite), Rolls and potato salad and continues to press me to eat all of them. Its weird that I don't even want them anymore. My old favorites were right there in my face and they didn't even look appealing.
So once again I remind him I'm doing the Atkins diet. He says, "Dr. Atkin died from a heart attack from eating too much fat" and I said "No, he slipped on ice and died from head injury" and he was baffled that he didn't really die of a heart attack. It cracks me up how people who have never had a weight problem think. I don't think he was doing all this to be rude, quite the contrary, I just think hes a bit clueless. Like, why wouldn't you want to load up on sugary carbs?
Anyhow that was my success story/mini-rant rolled into one.
