  • About Sleep....

    OK. Im on day 5 of induction...No cheating, things are going grand.

    Last night i went to bed around a quarter to 10.
    I was up this morning at 4

    Whats the deal? I can't go back to sleep! I feel fine, I feel rested, so trust me, Im NOT complaining! But it wasnt two weeks ago that if I didnt get 8+ hours of sleep.. <--me ALL day!

    I've been known to sleep 10 hours with no probs at night. So this is just the strangest thing for me.

    Anyone else have drastic changes to their sleepng habits?

    Yes - I now dont need near as much sleep as I used to pre-Atkins.

    Enjoy the extra hours of living it gives you

      I see you are up to!!! I cannot sleep either!!! I sleep really well at night but not since I started the Atkins diet. Night before last, I probably slept 3 to 4 hours then I went to the gym twice yesterday...both times I walked 2 miles and lifted weights. So you would think I would be so tired ...I went to bed around 12:30 last night and have been up since 3:00....it is now almost 4:30 now. I wish I could sleep!!!!

        Yep, join the party! Sleep is over rated anyways!

        AND.........the good new is it just gets better. I require alot less sleep now then I did prior to this WOE.

        Like I always say (again and again and again)........ Not only does Atkins add years to your life, but life to your years!

          I've found that low-carb eating gives me more sustained energy for longer periods of time, without the ups and downs and spikes. That's both good and bad, I guess. I rarely ever have the energy to hit the gym as hard as I used to, but I also don't feel exhaustion. So I lack the sensation of bursts of energy and outright exhaustion--more like I'm droning on and on at the same level for hours on end.

            I have found just the opposite liftinguru!

            I went for 47 years droning on and on.

            Now........... I am like the energizer bunny! It is great! Yesterday I worked 10+ hours in a postion I never would have dreamed I could do three years ago. On my feet and working out (off and on) for over 10 hours!

            LIFE IS GOOD

            But, I am in maintenance and my carbs are at about 75 per day. I will grant you the first few weeks were tough, but get through it as it is so worth it!

              YES... I am going to bed much later then normal and waking up early and feeling great.. Its kind of a strange feeling..lol

                I had the same problem last night. I am on my 4th day, and woke up at 6 am... but had a bad headache. Laid down for a while, but it wasnt really sleep... Thats is ok with me lol.. I am doing laundry, getting kids ready and me for work. With more time!!
