If you're losing weight, and you feel you can't give it up, that's your decision. It's not allowed during induction, and it's possible you'd lose more weight without it, but if you've made up your mind, and it's working, more power to you.

And...just to add, you CAN do anything you set your mind to, and that means, yes, giving up caffiene. Switching to halfdecafe may help make the transition to giving up caffiene (because it spikes your blood surgar) easier and then going to straight decafe.

      Best wishes!

I didn't think I could give up my coffee, but I did and it hasn't been that bad. I feel like I have a lot more energy now.

I also have more energy since I gave up coffee. Seems hard to believe, doesn't it?

I am a caffeine addict myself so I know where you are coming from. I also mix ephedra with caffeine for fast effective fat burning as do most of my gym rat buddies. However, ephedra had a bad effect on my hair and caffeine wasn't allowed on Induction and so I went to decaf. It is not so bad after a couple of days, the thing is though I was very sleepy, I mean most of the day.

It is a month past now and I don't miss either one... although I still love the smell of real coffee I just don't miss it. That is going from about 10 medium cups of real coffee a day for decades to 2 decaf a day. The body gets used to it. Somehow.

My teeth are whiter now too.

I heard decaf tea is best..something about caffine tends to make you crave sugar. Just watch the splenda to sweeten it..that can slow your weight loss during induction.

Green tea is fine, but you just can't count it for your daily water totals.

Um, I drink water for breakfast.

If water is "boring" you can add lemon, lime, or cucumber slices to it to enhance the flavor. Just make sure you don't add crystal light or anything--once you do that, it can't be counted toward your water allowance.

You will feel loads better if you give up the caffiene. For the first few days it will be TOUGH, but once your body is rid of that junk, wow! You'll feel like a new person.
