  • HELP!!! Olive Garden!!!

Okay, a friend called the other (I haven't seen her in almost a year), and asked if we could meet for lunch tomorrow. She said "you pick where you want to eat", Soooo I named everything Atkins friendly I could think of, and she said, "Oh, well let's go to the OLIVE GARDEN!!! Chuck and I haven't been able to go in forever, and we really want to go there"!!! OMG, Olive Garden was not one of the places I mentioned. So now I am in a panic wondering what I'm going to eat Does anyone know what is legal there??? What can I eat??? Carb counts??? The Olive Garden use to be my favorite place to go...all that bread and salad...Mmmm!!! But, I will NOT stray!!! No matter what. Even if I have to sit there, say I'm sick, and drink water (that would be awful though).
Any help would be soooo appreciated!!!

Yes, the menu said the carb count was the meal "as served" so I beleive that is the full count including the substituted broccoli.

They now sell the bottles of dressing at Olive Garden and the last time I took a glance at it. It is 2 carbs per serving. Only problem is that you never know how much dressing you are getting. May want to see if you can get some of the salad before they drench it and add it yourself.

Thanks for ALL the helpful info!!!
I'm not sure about that sald Gina, only because of the dressing.
I'm going to skip the regular salad too, and just stick to the grilled chicken, veggies and water.
I don't know why I am having soooo much panic over going to the Olive Garden. I'm not worries about cheating at all. It's so weird...I'm SO weird!!! lol

                  Re: HELP!!! Olive Garden!!!

I always ask for my salad dressing to be served on the side. Then I just dip my fork and control how much dressing I'm eating.

                    Re: HELP!!! Olive Garden!!!

I am probably late with a reply and you may have already gone, but here is my favorite item to get at Olive Garden....

                    FIVE CHEESE ZITI AL FORNO
(Ziti pasta in a five cheese marinara sauce baked with a layer of Italian cheeses) You can add chicken for an additional charge.
I ask them to add 2 chicken breast (cut in strips) and to hold the pasta. So actually it is chicken smothered in melted cheese/marinara sauce. I don't know the carbs on this, but every time I've eaten it, my stix have remained purple and I continue to burn/lose fat. From my observation, there is very little marinara sauce in this recipe. It is enough to turn the cheese a slight red color, but mostly it is all cheese. I am assuming the marinara sauce has sugar in it, so I probably should not be eating it (or recommending it for that matter)..............so, to be on the safe side, have salad, don't eat the bread sticks and order a fish and veggie-type item.
