Just a heads up! When eating out, beware! Don't just assume that if you order chicken breast that it doesn't have some carbs added somewhere. Really that is true of anything that you don't prepare yourself. Better to ask!!! You don't want to be surprised and hinder all your hardwork!
I know better, but was still shocked today to find that the 1/4 dark rotisserie chicken (which consists of a drumstick and thigh, 5.5 oz.) that I ordered from Boston Market had a full 6 carbs in it. That means over 1 carb per ounce, someplace that you expected there to be none, or very little. I went online for the nutritional information to enter my totals onto my journal and this was what I found. 300 calories, 17g fat, 32g protein, and 6g net carbs!
Not a big deal if you are on OWL like I am, but for those on induction, I really don't think you can afford to spend 6 of your carbs that way. The ingredients show that they inject the chicken with a 17% solution that includes sugar, maltodextrin, and corn starch in it and they also have sugar in the apple cider vinegar marinade that they put on it.
