Ahhh....so this crappy hungover feeling is what happens when you "cheat".

    Sheesh!

    Re: Cheating hangover

Hangover is a perfect word for it. I remember hangovers from drinking in my youthful wild days ... now in my middle-aged fat days it's carb hangover!

How big was your cheat, purplebutterfly? Was it one serving of a no-no, all day, something else?

I'm kind of glad the feedback is immediate (next day anyway) for "blowing it" -- it's like an instant reminder not to do that again ... I guess the trick is to get the fear of "hangover punishment" to win instead of the temptation.

Yeah, it's amazing that something you want so much and tastes so good can make you feel so bad, isn't it.

Experience can be a cruel teacher but it's usually a very effective one.

The chocolate cake I understand -- I've never had bad chocolate from anywhere (except that carob pseudo-chocolate *rap).

But convenience store nachos? Gag a maggot!

But I can relate to the zombie-like walk toward the "dispenser" for them ... or at least that's how I must look headed toward my own worst tempters.

Are you back in control now???

I must confess. I'm there with you today. I had my wedding shower last night and my mother bought petit fours, had to have one of those... and two cookies put together with frosting.

and now I feel like crap. and I'm up 2 lbs today. Hopefully that will drop off tomorrow.

Butterfly and Lonix, sorry to hear you're feeling yucky. Did what you ate taste as good as you feel when you're NOT cheating? I bet not! Have you both thought about what you were thinking -- or not -- when you did it? While I don't believe in dwelling on the past, sometimes thinking about what caused you do it, what you were thinking, helps prevent it in the future.

Of course, a lot of us have done it, but I have to say for me that every time, what I eat truly tastes less and less good. Not sure if my tastebuds are changing or what... Lord, that would be nice.

Take care, and good for you both for getting right back on track!
