Hey all! Today completes a VERY CLEAN induction period for me. I lost 9 pounds in the two weeks, and am very happy with that. I still well over 100 pounds to lose, should i go on extended induction or mosey on over to OWL? Thanks for any advice in advance. G'luck to you all!

Re: To sty or go (off of induction that is)
Look at the stickies of both forums (extened induction) and (owl). There are good reasons to do it both ways. It becomes a matter of choice. I stayed on induction longer because I was afraid of OWl. When my weight loss slowed I moved to OWL and it began again. If you are wanting new foods you will need to move up sooner then I did. Help?~Lauren~
support? Isn't it time to give some back?

I agree with Lauren. See how YOU go. I stayed on induction for about 4 weeks. after the first two weeks of losing nicely i then lost NOTHING for a while - obviously my body was re-grouping and adjusting to this new way of eating. It wasnt until I made teh leap into OWL that the weight started moving again. The addition of new foods etc is great and good motivation. It is also a good thing to add variety to prevent getting bored with the same foods all the time!
Goodluck!Donna

Re: To sty or go (off of induction that is)
Hey there. I stuck on Induction for 3.5 months and lost 92.4lbs. But ... and this is big but ... I did it because I needed surgery. Problem was, because I was so bored, once I hit goal my brain did a double flip and I ended up pretending to myself that I could go back to just eating carbs the old way. I haven't put all the weight back on - but I have put a significant amount back on. Now I'm back on Atkins - but this time I'm going to do it rung by rung, and keep myself motivated - so that when I hit maintenance I have a better idea of what my critical carb level is. I guess the point is ... it works either way. But you will be able to really see what flatlines you and what doesn't if you do it slowly and consistently, working up the rungs. Best of luck hon.Start weight: 103.6 kg (227.92 lbs)
Goal weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
Now weighing in at ...... 95.6kg (210.32)
Total loss = 8 kg (17.6 lbs)

Re: To sty or go (off of induction that is)
I'm a strong believer that you don't necessarily lose more weight on induction. I stayed on it for a few extra weeks, and actually started losing more when I moved to OWL. I always recommend at least trying to move up the rungs. The added food variety, while it doesn't seem like a lot, really does make a difference in expanding your options, and more important, makes eating this way a long term much more fesible.
Best of luck!
