Re: how much cardio yall doin?
Enough is going to be entirely dependent on each person's goals.
I run about 30-35 miles per week now and will be getting closer to 50 per week by September. However, I'm marathon training. I wouldn't expect most people to do nearly that much cardio in a week.
If you're getting that much in and you're not getting burned out or injured. Keep at it. If you're not feeling challenged enough, slowly add more.

Re: how much cardio yall doin?
I am 50ish so my cardio is gradual, I walk at 3.5 to 4 mph for 1 hour every day, to watch my fav TV show which is right in front of the treadmill. Then on some days maybe 3 times a week I add another hour.
I plan to lower the time and increase the speed but I need to do it gradually. I also do Pilates, intermediate level 4 times a week, 1 hour each... great for core and stretching but not like resistance training, strength and power, which is my next priority.

Re: how much cardio yall doin?
I do a mix of cardio, strength training, and flexibility/toning. This has been my recent schedule:
M--15 minutes bike, 1 hour Boot Camp class
T--15 minute walk to the gym, 30-45 minutes lower body strength training, 1 hour yoga
W--15 minutes bike, 45 minutes upper body strength training, 15 minutes ab work/toning
R--1 hour cardio, 15 minutes ab work/toning
F--EITHER 45 minutes strength training or 1 hour cardio, this changes based on previous workouts
S--45 minutes strength training, 30 minutes bike, 30 minutes swimming
Su--day of rest, but I usually do a longer walk (4+ miles)
I will also throw in short pilates and yoga sessions at home, based on what I need to "work" and how I feel.START 8/16/06 @ 270+~MG1: 220-12/2/06~MG2: 210-1/07~MG3: 199-3/2/07~MG4: 190-4/27/07~MG5: 180-7/04/07~GOAL: 170

Re: how much cardio yall doin?
Hello,
I agree with the above - it depends where you're at fitness wise and your goals. When I started I did about 6 mins on the elliptical - which was a start, but now I do about 45 mins cardio about 5 days a week, I mix it up, running, swimming, biking, ellip, etc.
Weights and abs really help me burn fat too - I couldn't do any on Drs orders for a while and it kind of slowed me down I think. Fitness classes have also been a great boost for me recently, they break up the bordeom of the gym and push me harder than I would myself.
Your workout sounds pretty good, but do mix it up and keeping challenging yourself
Also I find watching my distance, rather than the clock makes it less tedious

Re: how much cardio yall doin?
I totally agree with Rich.
I am 51 and I run between 25-30 miles a week, or about 1 hour and 15 minutes 4 days a week. I've been running since Nov 2003, and its taken me awhile to get to that level of endurance. The key is to find a balance between keeping yourself challenged and staying injury free. Do that, and there are no limits, IMO.

Re: how much cardio yall doin?
I'm a walker: 30 minutes if there is no resistance training component that day, and 20 minutes if there is. About 4 days a week. Even if I didn't need it for physique and cardiovascular purposes, I couldn't be without my cardio. I love to get active and sweat - and love it even more when it's out of the way!
Fitness is the very first thing I do when I roll out of bed.
