    Has anyone had Kellogg's Eggo Nutri-Grain Whole Wheat waffles?? On the nutritional facts its states

    Total Carb-28g
    Dietary Fiber-3g
    Sugars-3g
    Other Carbohydrate-22g

    What is other carbohydrates?? And how many net carbs would that equal?

    Ingredients

    ENRICHED FLOUR (WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID), WHEY, WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR, WATER, VEGETABLE OIL (SOYBEAN OIL, PALM OIL AND PALM KERNEL OIL WITH TBHQ AND CITRIC ACID FOR FRESHNESS), EGG WHITES, WHEAT BRAN, SUGAR, LEAVENING (BAKING SODA, SODIUM ALUMINUM PHOSPHATE, MONOCALCIUM PHOSPHATE), SALT, CALCIUM CARBONATE, MALT FLAVORING, SOY LECITHIN, VITAMIN A PALMITATE, NIACINAMIDE, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B1), PYRIDOXINE HYDROCHLORIDE (VITAMIN B6), RIBOFLAVIN (VITAMIN B2), CALCIUM PANTOTHENATE, FOLIC ACID, VITAMIN B12.

      I think carboydrate is kind of a catch all category. Whatever can't be categorized as a protein or a fat becomes, by default, a carb. I'm pretty sure the only carbs you will able to deduct will be the fiber ones. That leaves 25 carbs just for breakfast!

      I'm not sure which rung you are on, but even if you are on the grains rung, these waffles would not be a good choice. They have refined flour and sugar which are definate no-nos on Atkins.

      If you'll look around in the recipe sections, you will find some recipes for pancakes that are Atkins friendly and so much healthier.
