  • Any disabled people out there????

Hi there. I was wondering if there are any other people on ADBB who have a mobility disability and have to control pain levels. 'Cos today my pain levels are soaring, scales haven't moved and I'm feeling BLEH!!!!! And it is really tempting to just curl up in a ball and feel sorry for myself. I'm not going to though. Instead I went to the before and after page and reminded myself how fabulous I'm going to look!!! Just wondered if there is anyone out there who has to use constant meds to control pain and how you find that impacts on weight loss.

I don't have any advice, but I wanted to tell you that I'm sorry you're struggling so much with pain. My dear mother-in-law also lives with a lot of pain and I see how discouraging it can be. I admire your tenacity, though. You must treat your body kindly by feeding it well. Keep up the good work!

Hi Gaynora, Sorry to hear of your pain level today. I have RA too and have to take pain medication daily for it. Fortunately though it hasn't slowed me down as far as my weight loss goes. My RA does slow me down on my mobility too. I have it in my hips and my right leg. My DH or DD has to help me with putting on my sock and shoe on that side in the winter. So glad it's summer to just be able to wear sandles. I have found that by being on a fiber therapy and drinking lots and lot of water helps when taking pain medication, and this woe. Also L-Glutamine Is not only helpful with cravings but also excellent to take when taking pain meds. It's very helpful and healing for your digestion and helps support your muscle mass. Hope this helps, and hope your feeling better soon.

Helloooooooo everyone. Thanks for all the encouragement. I didn't give in and get all down on myself. And ... best of all ... I didn't even feel the urge to comfort eat. So although pain is still simmering, I feel in control. I WILL NOT BE BEATED BY MY BODY - so there. In fact, today I threatened to recycle my leg as catfood if it didn't cooperate. Grinning!!!!
