Re: Is McDonalds safe for induction?
According to McDonald's website, if you just ditch the bun and the ketchup, but keep the mustard, onion and pickles you end up with 4 carbs, if you go with just meat and cheese it's a whopping 3 carbs per. I've heard though that the American cheese is a no go on induction, so you might want to check that out.

Re: Is McDonalds safe for induction?
FYI - My DS for some time wanted a chicken-nugget happy meal for dinner.
It was convenient to oblige his request on the way home after getting him from daycare after work, and saved my kitchen time if I did so.
It turns out though, that such meal costs about $1 more than a hamburger happy meal, and I soon figured the math: get the burger meal and an order of nuggets from the dollar menu and voila! You just got the kid his nugget happy meal and a free burger, plus food (the bun) for the cheep-cheeps in the bushes! No problem with the toppings - a slice of dill, dab of catsup & maybe a tad of onion is a couple of grams, and I was out of the kitchen completely for the evening, save perhaps grabbing a quick snack to round out my day's intake.~Susan

Re: Is McDonalds safe for induction?
Granted....the burgers were a 2-bite fix for awhile for me, but since I found out they are like sawdust compared to my home-cooked, I decided it was worth weaning DS off of happy meals (last one consumed in April) and teaching him to eat some at least of the food I will fix for myself anyway, along with his (@#%($#&@) junk food supplements.... Re: Is McDonalds safe for induction?
I'm not touching that....

btw, vienna sausages in hot sauce are delish! But ya gotta count the carbage... Their high fat content and appetite satisfying ability has kept them a mainstay in my kitchen grab-n-go arsenal, only to be used on occasion.
My 2 cents - The best defense is a good offense - a healthy variety of good nutritious foods likely gives one better protection against moderate exposures to the typical bodily onslaught of toxins and carcinogens than the typical unhealthy diet many of us consumed prior to undertaking Atkins.~Susan

Re: Is McDonalds safe for induction?
Here's the breakdown for McDonald's "cheese":
Sharp Pasteurized Processed American Cheese (slice):
Cultured milk, water, cream, sodium citrate, salt, sodium aluminum phosphate, sorbic acid (preservative), sodium phosphate, cheese culture, artificial color, acetic acid, enzymes, lecithin.
It appears to be safe for Induction, but like most 'processed American cheese' it has too many additives compared to a real cheese.
Here's the breakdown of all McDonalds foods.
