  • New here.........again

Hi Guys, I was on this woe about 3 years ago. I lost almost 50 pounds in 6 months. Then a life change happened and I found myself gaining it all back. Anyway I'm ready to do it this time. I started a week ago anf already lost 4 pounds. I know it's all water but it still makes a body feel good to see the scale go down. In the 6 months I was on it previously I learned allot. Hung around this forum, asked questions, read the book and even went through boot camp. So I basically know what I'm suppose to eat, how much and all that. I just have one problem I'm hoping someone can give me advice on. I posted this over on the second chance board but I didn't get any reponses so I thought I'd try here
In the last couple of years my teeth are not what they use to be. I had quite a few pulled a few months ago and the other side is not much better. I'm finding I'm finding I'm having a really hard time with raw vegies. The only lettuce I can chew is iceberg which is basically just "chewy water" Anyone have any advice? If I ate just cooked vegies would I still do ok?
    Thanks so much,

    Susan

    Re: New here.........again

    Hi Welcome back to ADBB!
It looks as if you are off to a good start

As to veggies there is no need to eat them raw at all - all of the ones on the '2-cup list' can be cooked which would make them easier to chew - and in the extreme you could always puree them to make soup and sauces to put on top of meat!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

      Hey there,

Just picking up on the soup idea here .... can we use stock cubes, presumably they have carbs in? Or are we talking like veggie allowance & water?? I can feel a nice chicken and mushroom soup coming on!! LOL!!

I was going to say soup too! I think that's a great idea. Or maybe a salad with all the veggies chopped very small or shredded.

          Re: New here.........again

Thank you so much, guys. I feel so much better now. I make an awesome chicken noodle soup (minus the homemade noodles this time). I boil a whole chicken with cut up celery, onions bell peppers and cabbage. Boil untill the chicken is done and then shred the chicken into the broth with vegies. So good. Will have to do that this week. Who says soup is only for winter time

          Thanks again,

          Susan
