  • This Is Sooooooo Hard!!!

    i havn't really even started Induction yet... ive just been trying SO HARD to cut out My Weakness's... the Crackers, the Bread, the Potatoes!!! OMG! and the Ice Cream & Candy... OMG!!! for ME, this is really going to be Super Duper HARD!!! but i do have my Book (2002 Version) and im going to get started right AFTER the 4th of July... i think i better get that out of the way 1st just to be on the safe side... also... my daughter's birthday is the 5th of July so there goes another EXCUSE day huh? OMG i cant believe im making excuses already to put it off until tomorrow... well im making a Promise to Myself that right after the 4th, I WILL GET STARTED!!! and i know if i need help i can come here and ask for it ive been reading ALOT lately and i can see how helpful everyone is and i think thats GREAT!!! YOU ALL DESERVE A BIG HUG!!! wish me luck!

    I kept putting it off too and you know what I regret it. It's not too hard to resist the things you mentioned when you break the sugar, carb addictions. The first week is the hardest but after you do it you don't want 2 eat bad things anymore because you see the results and you feel better and have soooooo much more energy (ooh listen to me) I wish you luck and keep on logging to this site I tried sooo many times this time around 2 get through the first few days and failed several times but this site has been a god send 4 me and i hope 4 u too.

      4th of july is my favorite holiday on atkins. Hot dogs and hamburgers no buns burnt on the grill. Cucumber salad. BBQ chicken and sausage ok I am hungry. Dont think about getting that one last goodie in think about how much easier this is the WW and trying to count points at a BBQ.

        After just the 1st week on Induction when you see all that weight coming off, you'll know it's worth it. Oh,and when you're ready and decide to move on to OWL and still losing, you'll love it and think this WOE is fabulous. Trust me!

            Why wait 'til next week?? You could be like, 5lbs and have looser fitting clothing by then!!! Like SG said, 4th is mad easy, all the hotdogs and hamburgers to eat. BBQs are *definitely* the easiest food places!! Don't put it off for another day! Take a chance, jump on the wagon now and see what happens by then!

              When I began this WOE I too thought that is was going to be so difficult! I of course am a pasta and bread lover. I thought how on earth is this gonna work for me? You know what? It was the best decision I ever made, and I dont even really think about it anymore. Its like second nature when I prepare my meals now, I know what I can have and it all tastes great!! It definently gets easier after the first week when those cravings start going bye bye. I find myself craving the stuff I can have now!!! And like the others said, once you start moving through OWL, you really wont feel like you are "missing out" on good food.

              I used the "Ill start tomorrow, or I'll start next week" thing over and over again.. and I am now kicking my self in the arse for doing so! I could have been that much closer to goal. Whenever you do decide to start, whether its before or after the holiday, I wish you all the best.. and remember all of us are here for ya!!

                It may seem hard at first, but you will get very used to it quickly and discover that you can still have quite a varied menu. As you progress through OWL, you will find some great substitutes. My wife and daughter are not on Atkins, but they the jicama fries that I make. I have to fight them both for my own share!

                    Oh MY Goodness!! Being that I was on WW earlier this year....THIS STATEMENT IS SO TRUE! BBQ's are the worst for me on WW. Points everywhere, in every direction. At least on Atkins I can have meat, salad, meat, veggies, meat, cheese, meat, diet iced tea, meat.........well, you get the picture. (And no, I'm not planning on gorging myself on meat )

                      once you kick those nasty carb addictions during induction you will truly be amazed at how simple it is. The ketosis lessens your appetite and you wont even be thinking about bread and candy and chips! It like magic and after 6 months on this WOE I am still amazed at how SIMPLE this is .. and I am never going back to eating the way I used to. feels great to be slim and sassy rather than fat and frumpy! Go for it girl!

                        Well, I have to differ with you. This is one of the easiest ways of eating I have ever tried. I eat my favorite things and I don't miss the things that hurt me. It's only hard because you're not into it. You have to WANT TO DO IT. Your brain and your heart have to be on the same page. You are in control of what goes into your mouth and will be very successful when you give it your all.

                        Best of luck to you. THE WOE is not hard, it's changing your mind and keeping it that way - thats the hard part.

                          Hey there. Welcome to you. It actually gets easier when you start Atkins, because your body chemistry changes and you will find the cravings subsiding. Seriously - it's quite miraculous how it happens. My thing was bread. A world without bread was unthinkable. I don't even worry about it now. Lotsa luv to you.
