    Re: fell off the wagon!

Cheating as in infidelity or cheating on her diet????

If the former, I am truly, truly sorry this has happened.

Regardless, you've discovered that eating the high carb stuff not only didn't fix your problems, only added to them. Be thankful you caught hold of yourself when you did.

      Re: fell off the wagon!

I am sorry to hear what happened with your wife. Although I understand that this is an emotionally difficult time for you, I caution you not to try to relieve your anger and sadness with food. Make a committment to get back on track with your diet by focusing on your past successes and telling yourself over and over again that you do have the strength to persevere and to reach your weight loss goal no matter what obstacles life throws at you. Additionally, if you are not quite sure how to deal with your emotions in a healthy way, then try talking to a friend that you trust or talk to a counselor who has expertise in dealing with these issues. Good luck and I wish you the best!

          Re: fell off the wagon!

thanks for all the kind words, but its really not the food that has been hard it s the alcoholic beverages that the carbs are coming from, not drinking alot but its hard to get back into the single life and not drink with friends!

Well, I have low carb Rock Star and vodka when I feel like having a drink. How about that?

              Re: fell off the wagon!

So very sorry to hear of your distress. But... it's very good that you're here, talking about your difficulties with avoiding alcohol. I'm sure that just by posting here, you're underlining your desire to continue with this way of eating/drinking.

Try to use Atkins as a real focus and as a distraction, rather than using alcohol for that. I know it's hard, but it'll be so worth it in the long run.
My thoughts are with you in this difficult time. Have faith... good times will come again.

Man, I'm sorry about your situation. It's not right - period...

My brother introduced me to Michelob Ultra. It's acceptable, particularly when it's not ice-cold, the flavor comes out more for some reason when it's warmer. However, I'm not going to have any during my re-induction here and then after that, it will be very sparingly. There's some info here about it for your consideration: http://www.shapefit.com/low-carb-beers.html
