  • Day 1 Jitters...

    i got my Book yesterday! i stayed home from work and read and read and read... i love this new 2002 Version! sure is different from the Original Book... anyways... today is my 1st day of Induction! and what a day to start! 7/7/07! this will be a day to remember! im so excited!!! and also a little nervous... but after all the reading ive done i just know this will go well for me... this morning i had Eggs and a little Cheddar fried in Real Butter with some Sausage for breakfast...! Yummmmmmmmmm... i can really see eating like this everyday! im not going to weigh myself until next Saturday... and then................... i bet i will come back to you with at least a 2 or 3lb loss! im so excited! i know these Day 1 Jitters will go away as the day goes on... i hope i dont 'accidentally' put something into my mouth that i will regret later... ive read where people do that... IM GONNA TRY HARD!!! wish me luck! and thanks for all the great info!

        You can do this! I remember drinking some Sprite by accident (grabbed my daughters drink) when I first started Atkins. I pulled the car over and spit it out. My family thought I was nuts, but at least I didn't drink it.

          Hi there Tims - after a very short time, watching carbs becomes a habit! So don't worry about it hon. You'll get there. Welcome to you.
          Start weight: 103.6 kg (227.92 lbs)
          Goal weight: 80 kg (176 lbs)
          Now weighing in at ...... 95.6kg (210.32)
          Total loss = 8 kg (17.6 lbs)

            Welcome aboard, tims! You'll love the support you'll get here. Keep checking in all the time, especially when you are struggling. The biggest tip probably everyone here will give you is to PLAN. Just always have good foods available.

              Welcome to the board! Its great to read posts like this, gives me abit of push to want to do better in myself and not give up. I wish you all the best in this WOE Tims.

              Lol MomtoFour, I did something like this. I went to an interview and when asked what I wanted to drink I said Coke....not diet Coke! It was too late to change my order before I realised and didnt want to look silly in front of my interviewer so I had to drink it! Luckily it didnt effect me too much but still a silly slip up to make!

              26 yr 5'2 F
              Did Atkins on and off from Feb 2005 until April 2008. Fluctuated between 15 st 1/211lbs and 11 st 1/155lbs.
              On different weightloss programme from 28th May 2008 start weight 14 st 11/207lbs.
              Current weight 10st 3lbs/143lbs.
              Ultimate Goal Weight 9 st/126lbs.

                  Welcome Tims! Good for you for getting hold of the 2002 edition! So... you started on 07/07/07... just think where you'll be on 08/08/08!! Possibly maintenance, or somewhere around there. And the time will go soooo quickly!

                    Thanks Ladies! day 1 was really easy! i knew it would be since im so motivated by all of you! this week is going to be a little rough, but i am prepared and cooking ALOT of chicken today to take during the week at work for salads and such... i have done all my shopping and im ready to go! im taking small baby steps right now, but by the end of Induction i think ill be running faster than i ever have! Thanks All...!

                        Hey Tims welcome and congratulations on your decision to start a new way of eating! I am on my sixth day of induction and I just wanted to jump in here and throw my support to you too! Checking in every day really helps and I can't say enough about planning ahead. It really works!

                              Welcome Tims.

                              You sound really positive and focused. That is a recipe for success. You'll really know what we are all talking about after you have been in this for one week. It is a wonderfully healthy way to eat and it gets easier once you get accustomed to planning and drinking all your water. Visit often for motivation and answers to questions. This is a great place to come for support.
