Ketostix?

is it essential to use Ketostix? i have seen where some people like to see PURPLE and i just want to know if i MUST do this, or is it just a Preference? Thanks!

Nope, it's DEFINITELY not essential!

I've never used them, and I've done fine with the program. I've looked for other signs of ketosis to let me know I'm on-track, like appetite supression, increased energy, looser clothes, pounds lost, etc.

Many people prefer to use them for re-assurance, or as a safety net to make sure they're doing everything right, which is totally cool. I never bought them because I couldn't find them. Then I did so well without them, I figured why buy something I haven't needed yet?

If you do buy them, I've heard that you can cut them in half lengthwise so you can have twice as many to use--they ARE expensive, so anything that helps to stretch a buck is good!

That's a great tip to cut the stix in half Julie! They are kind of costly. I am one who likes to see the little stick turn colors as it gives me reassurance. I know when I'm not losing the weight I want, at least I'm stillin ketosis. Though I can tell now anyway, by the keto taste in my mouth and pounds/inches lost, etc...

I think you can get the stix anywhere where they sell diabetic things. I got mine at Target, but I think I culd get them at Giant (local supermarket) too, near the pharmacy.

Kewl tip about cutting them in half. Now ... why didn't I think of that (dduuuuuhhhhh). I'm just about to get my next bottle - so they shall be suitably doctored. They aren't essential. I just luv the feeling that it gives me to see them going purple. I get like a kid at Christmas really. Sad .. I know. But there you are! I agree though that the other indicators are probably more accurate. Luv to ya.
