I may be opening a can of worms here, but what do you all think of the Kimkins diet?? I may be a little down because the scale hasn't moved and I haven't cheated at all.

eeeek! i saw this diet posted on another MB that i belong to. a member was bragging about losing 30 lbs in 3 weeks, and she provided a link, so i checked it out.

i would say that the kimkins diet sounds great in theory, but it's low-fat. i don't know how it's possible to be sated and feel full on high protein/low fat. atkins works so well for me becuase of the high fat factor. plus, the website looks too much like a scam to me. faddish, maybe. i don't know. if you try it, let us know how it works out for you.

OMG!! I read that too! 30 lbs in 3 weeks! Did u read her daily food intake?? It was something like for breakfast 2 scrambled eggs w/pepper, for lunch one can of tuna, for dinner one 4oz chicken breast. And she claims to NOT be hungry. I"m like HUH???? NO Way!

If you're not losing, I would suggest checking what you're eating to make sure there's nothing hidden in there. If you're not having trouble sticking *to* Atkins, there's always tweaking that can be done in order to help your loss. I would post a couple days of food and ensure there's nothing hidden, etc.

Just information, no judgements. The diet is very low-fat, very low-carb and very low-cal. The diet, as outlined in a Woman's World magazine a couple of months back, allowed for 1000-1100 calories a day, I believe, however, on the site, anything between 300-800 is what people seem to aim for. And exercise, altho there is a site exercise trainer and it is recommended, most people seem to angst about it slowing their weight-loss down because of gaining muscle.

i went to the site to check it out after i read this post last night, i had never even heard of it before. to me it just seems so bogus. there's no way i'd even try it, i could not function on a diet like that. it just seems like a scam.

There is just no way I could feel good and have energy on so low calories. I can not imagine maintaining that diet. Plus doesn't you body react badly to too few calories a day?

I tried the kimkins for a minute literally and after day 2 it felt like I was going to pass out, To low calories for me Atkins is the only program I am sticking with, STAY FAR AWAY FROM KIMKINS PLEASE I followed the program to the T and it just didn't agree with me, It may work for some But it didn't do a thing for me but almost Admit me in the hospital I got the diet for free from another message board when I decided to try it, I am not giving her $60.00 For something I can get for free .

I would never follow the eating plan of someone that doesn't have any kind of nutritional or medical degree. This plan has been mentioned on here in the past and I looked into it out of curiousity..from what i can see, it's pretty much what has been said here: it's extrememly low cal, low carb, low fat. Doesn't really allow veggies (dangerous) and the creator of it pushes alot of laxatives, which is very dangerous.

I used to read a blog by a guy who's a well known low carber, i recently lost all respect for him when he started pushing the kimkins diet (i'm thinking he's getting paid for the plugs).

She does pay for plugs from what I understand.
