  • Salad Dressing, anyone???

I am new to the plan and I have made a serious discovery, I really do *NOT* like oil and vinegar on my lettus salad. I would greatly appreciate any sugestions or recomendations for salad dressings, thank you.

We use the "Ken's Steakhouse" brand at our house. The label reads 0 per serving for bleu cheese and 1 per serving for ranch. I usually shoot my total count a little higher because I don't trust those labels.

Thank you for the suggestion. I am still getting the hang of calculating from the labels and I didn't want to undo the good I have done so far this week, but I just couldn't take the oil and vinegar, blech!

I don't blame you on the vinegar but I do like extra-light olive oil for my salads. It seems to draw out the flavors of the foods. I like simple and you can't get much more simple than that for a dressing.

I like Marie's Blue Cheese Salad Dressing. It's a little more expensive, but has no sugar.
There are recipes on the net and probably here to make your own dressing too!

I take some mayonnaise, sour cream and dill weed and mix it together to make a DEEEELISH salad dressing.

I couldn't find the nutrional information on these products. There looked to be some really tempting one, but how can they be fat, sugar, carb and all that free? Mysterious.

They arent really!! But as they are quoting the numbers for a very small amount they are allowed to call it zero!!

Here is a link to the ingredients and nutrition info for Walden Farms dressings
                    http://www.carbsmart.com/wfdressnut.html

As you can see they must have 'some' carbs and calories etc as they have things like tomatoes, peppers, egg yolk etc in them.

I would count each 2 tablespoon serving as containing half a carb to account for the way they are allowed to call something with less than half a carb to be 'zero' carbs!!

And if you have more than 2 tablespoonsworth remember to add the extra half carb for each 'serving'.

I bet you could work out your own recipes from their list of ingredients too!
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

Exactly! ========> you shouldnt do this... just a tablespoon or less just to add a differnt flavor to your salads and food...
