  • Metamucil?

    Hey Gang,

I'm a second timer. I lost 110lbs on Atkisn and kept it off for 5 years. Last summer I decided to add some more carb - but it hasn't gone well. I'm 30 lbs up. No good. Whever I try to drop back, being a little older now, I tend to get...well....y'know. A lack of fiber problem.

Anyway, I'm taking another run at things and I'm looking for fiber sources even for induction. Over the last few months, the sources I've found tend to set off my cravings. Now, I've found metamucil - which I'm having a glass in the mornign and evening. Frankly, it tastes good and I"m counting it at 2 grams per.

Anyone else have experience w/this stuff? Is there a downside?

I think metamucil is sweetened with aspartame? Unless you have an unflavored one. That'd be the only thing I'd recommend. I've used the orange flavored sugar free one...it's easy to get down and seems to work pretty well.

I've gotten to the point that I prefer Flaxseed now.

There is benefiber and it's flavorless. I don't know what the ingredients are.
You know the first week I ate raw celery stalks with chunky blue cheese dip and it kept me pretty regular.
