Do you think there is a correlation between the amount of weight you are carrying and the colour of the sticks? As in... someone with more weight would be losing it faster and therefore the sticks are purple.... where as someone with only a few pounds to go would only show traces or small amounts because their isnt as much fat to attack = less ketones?

No. Mine would be lighter or darker at 100+ pounds more than I am now, and lighter or darker at my current weight.... unless me needing to lose another 15 pounds or so is the same as me needing to lose another 160 pounds or so?

hmm.... i only need to lose 8 pounds and im in traces etc.... and the weight loss is impossible. Im working out 5 days a week, running 3 miles (5k) doing VERY light weight resistance training and im not budging.

ummm... I don't think that really has to do with this thread, but if I were you, I would evaluate what I'm eating (rung vs. calories if you're exercising that much), keep in mind that losing 8 pounds is going to take a while, drink water, and figure out how long it's been since the scale *has* moved...

In DANDR Chapter 11 Dr Atkins talks about them in detail - he calls them 'Lipolysis Testing Strips'.

You all wanted some proof that drinking too much water can kill? Well, a radio station held a stupid contest and a woman died from it.

Water intoxication (also known as hyperhydration or water poisoning) is a potentially fatal disturbance in brain function that results when the normal balance of electrolytes in the body is pushed outside of safe limits by a very rapid intake of water.[1] Normal, healthy individuals have little to worry about accidentally overconsuming water. Nearly all deaths related to water intoxication in normal individuals have resulted either from water drinking contests, in which individuals attempt to consume several gallons over the course of just a few minutes, or long bouts of intensive exercise during which time electrolytes are not properly replenished, yet massive amounts of fluid are still consumed.

So no problem drinking a lot if you're spreading it out during the day!

That's just what I thought. Nowhere on any of the 'diet boards' I frequent has anyone been able to quote research proving that drinking over 100 ounces a day if you space it out rather than guzzling it down in a short period of time does any harm to the body.

Dotultimate, did your mother ever send you the info she talked about when she told you that drinking over 100 ounces in one day would cause kidney problems?
