I usually make this Turkish thing where you boil zucchini then poach the eggs with it with lots of black pepper. Most people probably wouldn't eat that though
Fried Cabbage..? That's a new one for me. My husband is danish and they make a cabbage dish that is really simple but very good. Basically you boil the cabbage and drain off the water. then you pour heavy cream over the cabbage, pepper it heavily and heat.. It's really very good.

Oh! Yum! This sounds awesome! I'm going to have to try it. I love cabbage fried in butter, too! Zucchini I usually grill in the Foreman grill after marinating in olive oil and garlic.
I often make cabbage and onions fried in butter - yummy!!
Zucchini (courgettes in UK) are great sliced and microwaved for a minute or so to soften then smothered in chopped ham and slices of gouda cheese and grilled!

Umm, wow, my mouth just watered... and look at that - it's dinner time
I cooked ground beef in a large skillet with kosher salt until just almost completely browned then added shredded (largely shredded) cabbage, diced white onion, and 2 cut up roma tomatoes... added a little olive oil, salt and pepper...
That was obnoxiously good. It took all I had not to eat the whole pot.
hmmm I'll have to look up different ways to cook jicama then - i used to work at a local market and I always assumed it was a starch - everyone told me it tastes like potatoes a little... now I'm curious..

The nickname for jicama is "mexican potato", and it looks a little like a potato on the inside. It actually tastes sort of like a cross between an apple and a pear... not like a potato at all. I know that there are recipes on the board for cooking with jicama, but I just eat it raw. It has an awesome amount of fiber in it.
