  • Dont know what to say for myself

I'm embarrassed to say that i have fallin down again and have been tripping over myself since saturday to get back onto things. Has anyone had the problem where you do good during the week then the weekend hits and you get lazy? I dont know where else to turn. My husband doesnt act like he cares much so i dont have anyone to vent to. I am so mad at myself. I WANT this..I NEED this life change yet i keep giving up on myself. Does this sound like anyone? I dont know what else to do. Im sick of it and everyday i say this is it its time to stick to my guns but then it doesnt happen. I am starting to feel like i dont even belong on this board just because everyone on here is doing great and well on their way to where they wanna be. It's like im just wasting space on here. Sorry to sound so negative im just upset with myself....

I understand the weekend thing, not I've fallen off the wagon...luckily, but you have so much more time on your hands during the weekend...it's easy to start eating the wrong things out of boredom.
I do 2 things to prevent that from happening:
I try not to actually have anything illegal in the house (there's my boyfriends pizzas and chips but that's pretty much it) and when I get bored I either try to think of new things to cook or I go to Lindas website ( http://www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html ) and try new recipes from there.
This way you do something with your time, discover new food you might really like and stay on plan.
Just try to keep yourself busy so you don't think about food too much.

GL with staying cheat free and I'm sure sooner or later you'll make it
Date to reach goal: I don't care, as long as it happens :P

Oh please don't think you're the only person around here that has problems staying with this WOL (Way of Life). We've all hit our walls and fallen off the wagon. But we are still here, because we know we can't give up. As long as you are here and trying.....

What works for me is to be as clean as possible during the week, drink gallons of water so that your system is flushed and your cravings gone for the weekend. Then each time I'm tempted, I get myself a large glass of ice water. As I drink it I question myself if that food I'm tempted with is really worth starting over again, and fighting my cravings again. Is it really worth the emotional hit I'll go through if I give in? I also take that time to come up with legal options that I CAN eat.

I also make sure that I have foods on hand that I can grab at any time. A carton of hard boiled eggs, a crustless quiche, a platter of BBQ chicken, Hot wings, Ribs, etc.

Enjoy this WOL and reach out any time you feel tempted.

Every time you feel tempted, try to really visualise yourself at goal. Tell yourself you'll make it! Think how fleeting your taste sensation will be, if you cheat. And think how long lasting your satisfaction and happiness will be when you reach goal and maintain. Believe me, it's soooo worth it.
Tell yourself you want and will have that million dollar feeling.

It goes without saying that you should always keep a nice high fat legal snack to hand for times like these.

        You can do it!!

You sound soooooooooooo much like me!! ...I always do good during the week and ruin everything in the weekends ..and have been this way my whole life.

I don't know what to tell you but now Ive started again and been 5 days. This time Im making my diet more interesting by having low carb products and being creative. I hope this will get me through.

Re: Dont know what to say for myself

Weekends are tempting, but not impossible to get through without cheats. Have you made a 'weekend' plan? I write out what I'm doing on the weekends, where I'm going, what I'm eating and stick to it. Make sure to put your exercise into the weekends as exercising gives your mind a boost of confidence and feeling good about yourself. The better you feel about your accomplishments, the more you'll be able to stay focused.

Keep some positive affirmations in your sight so you can see the reasons you want to lose and not allow yourself to make excuses to cheat.

You can do it. I'm not saying its always going to be easy...but it does get easier if you have a plan in place with motivating thoughts and actions.

If you feel like cheating....have things written down that you can do instead. (Write, walk, call someone, drink water, eat a legal snack, read something motivational, visit a friend, visit the ADBB) anything except cheat.

He loves me for me I cant fault him for that, but sometimes ya just need a push, ya know. Thats what so great about adbb, everyone here is willing to help you get over those hurdles. Re: Dont know what to say for myself

Oh, yes, I've had that problem. I have had it for about 1 year now.

Unfortunately, I was not as strong and self-disciplined as you. I quit. When I fell, I did NOT pick myself up and get back on the woe. I binged, gave up, wallowed for several weeks, then started again, each time having gained an additional several pounds instead of lost or maintained.

All I can say is that I admire you for keeping on. And it WILL click for you, and you WILL eventually be able to commit to it fully.

Come on over to the Second Time ARound forum if you want - we've all been there, done that, and we have a lot of experience with getting ourselves on track and staying there.
