I am using fitday daily .. was just wondering because i seem to be at a standstill and was curious as to calories others have success with . wanted to check that I was not over ( or under ) doing it!Donna

My bmi is 1695, and I am usually under that, though I try awfully hard to get between 1500 and 1600. Some days I'm only 1300, and a couple of times I've been way below that. I tend to lose faster when I stay right at or slightly below my bmi. (bmi is the basal metabolic index - the number of calories it takes you to just exist in your body each day. You can find it on fitday if you go to "activities" - you'll see a chart with "total calories burned today" and "basal" is what you should be aiming for) Going well below the bmi puts you into starvation mode and your body will stop losing and just hang on to every bit of water and fat to make sure you don't starve to death.
