Oh Pete, please think long and hard before getting this surgery. I had it done and it nearly killed me. It was the worst experience of my life. It ended up eroding in my stomach (as it does in many many people..dont let the phamplet fool u)....after many months of agonizing pain...finally got diagnosed after nearly bleeding to death..spent many hours getting my stomach repaired...developed pulmonary embolism ..hospitalized for another week.. It was a nightmare. Took two years to recover..of course gained back what i had lost ...but after starting atkins..ive accomplished more on this diet than i ever did with the band. And im healthier..getting the proper nutrition..and learning self control along the way.
