Went to an Asian grocery today to get some shiritaki noodles and found a pack of Mi Chay. The carb count on them is 2.2 grams which seems too good to be true. It's a Vietnamese noodle and it's made with wheat flour, so I can't have it just yet, but it won't be long. Can anyone tell me anything about them, like what to do with them besides soup? Are they really just 2.2 carbs? The nutritional info is a sticker that's been put on the package, so I don't entirely trust it. Thanks for any help.

Re: Does anyone know about Mi Chay noodles?
Does the packet also list fibre? If so is the fibre listed among the carb section or seperately in a different section of the label?
I ask because labels in UK and other countries outside the USA do not count fibre as a carb, so fibre does not get deducted from the total carb count on non-USA-labelled products.Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?

It says total carbs 2.2g, dietary fiber 0.6g, sugars 20g. The ingredients are wheat flour, veg oil, water ash (?).Originally posted by ElizellenDoes the packet also list fibre? If so is the fibre listed among the carb section or seperately in a different section of the label?

Well, if it's says 20g of sugar, it has 20g of sugar, doesn't it? Sounds highly suspect. I'd stay away from it.

Yeah, the 20g of sugar would be 20 additional carbs. Not sure why this isn't included in the carb count. Its a trick! Run!Re-Start Date: June 1, 2009

Re: Does anyone know about Mi Chay noodles?
Sounds like the labelling is probably way off, maybe it's per Asian labelling laws. if it has 20g's of sugars and the main ingredient is wheat flour, than i'd imagine it has at least 20g's of carbs per serving, not the 2.2 mentioned.
These would need to wait until the grains rung..Jen, 39, F

Re: Does anyone know about Mi Chay noodles?
Since the main ingredient is wheat flour, there is no way it has only 2.2 g's of carbs (there isn't even any fibre really in those carbs also). And unless you are on the grains rung, you shouldn't have them regardless. I'd say there is at least 22.2 (the 20g's of sugars + the 2.2 g's of 'carbs'). I'd stay away at least until maintenenace and only then if you can tolerate the wheat.Jen, 39, F

Re: Does anyone know about Mi Chay noodles?
Thanks everyone. I thought it sounded to good to be true. I found a different brand of the same type of noodle online and it lists 32g of carbs. That's more like it. I'm new at deciphering the carb info on labels as I used to only check the fat content. Now I just feel like this company was trying to put one over on me! I think I'll stick to mostly whole foods as much as possible. It's so much easier for me.

The total carb on that product should be about 20 for the calories to make sense.Originally posted by TBWCalories 146
Total Fat 6.2g
Cholesterol 0g
Sodium 1.1g
Total Carbohydrate 2.2g
Dietary Fiber 0.6g
Sugars 20g
Protein 0.6g
I'm so confused.
So, don't believe the total carb count on the package.
