  • My son's birthday woe

    Last week my son turned 2 years and i had decided to have a big party for him,we missed last year( family matters) anyway had lots of invites......i baked most of the goodies.....it was all Highcarb!!!! sweets,cakes,soda,biscuits.. i know all of you understand what am taking about......it was the most tryin moment...it took lots of will power not to goad all the stuff in my mouth.........i made it.....at night i cried,not because of what i had missed, but the self control it took. And for the first moment in my life i believed in my myself.

      Good for you for holding strong! You deserved the relief of a couple of tears... but just think of all the tears of joy you'll shed when you get to goal... and with your attitude and strength, I'm certain you will!



      Oh... and remember that it gets easier to resist every time you do. A win win situation!

        Congratulations. I'm glad that your tears were for happiness and pride instead of feeling deprived. Good job - next time it will be easier. There are numerous substiture food selections that you can make for yourself so that you won't feel deprived.

                  what the rungs mean to me:
                  rung 1 - more veggies
                  rung 2 - dairy (some milk in coffee)
                  rung 3 - seeds, nuts (mostly sprinkled on salads)
                  rung 4 - berries, melon
                  rung 5 - wine -
                  rung 6 - beans, hummus
                  rung 7 - other fruits
                  rung 8 - carrots/ potatoes (nah, prolly not)
                  rung 9 - whole grains (fresh Dutch breads...)
                  Major Goal - 128 lbs/ healthy range
                  (on to pre-maintenance)
