  • I relapsed.

    I have to be honest and admit I relapsed for two days off atkins.
    I celebrated 1 year of being clean and sober and they had cake and other goodies for me at the celebration.
    I had pizza too. But It was the worst boxed frozen pizza i ever had and regret ever eating it.


    I feel so bloated and heavy now. It was not worth it.

    I'm not hungry at all. I'm afraid if i put fat in me today I'll retain the fat because my metabolism is not a fat burning metabolism.
    Should I do a fast today or should I eat a hamburger later on?
    I have to keep saying to myself, "Nothing tastes as good as thin feels"!!!

    What is the best thing to do when you come off a relapse like this?

    Your body is going to hang on to the fat if you don't eat. Just start a clean induction again, that way your body can get back into burning fat and remember to drink lots of water.
    That's what I would do.

      Thanks... When should i eat...?
      Right away so my body finds only fat to burn? The last time I ate was about 11:30pm last night. I had the icing off the cake. I feel embarrassed admitting i fell off the wagon.
      This sucks because I had another cheat two weeks ago!

        I'm eating 3 eggs right now with a little butter. Then I'll flood myself with lots of water. It seems like every few weeks I'm sabotaging my success. I just had a cheat two weeks ago!

        I hope I won't gain the 8 pounds back after two days of carbs. I hope it;'s not hard to get back to ketosis. Do you usually start fat burning after three days of eating protien and fats??

          Eat every few hours today - and eat what you normally eat on induction. You may not have gone out of ketosis, but you probably won't lose any weight today and tomorrow.

          Just pick yourself up, dust off your butt, and eat like you're supposed to!

          And congrats on your 1 year - that's a major accomplishment and you should focus on that success rather than having a huge shame attack over how you celebrated.
