  • Oh the torture!!

I'm in charge of planning a conference for about 1500 people.

Well, today I am working on the menu part!! So I am sitting here sifting through 84 pages of menu items from this hotel of yummy things I can't eat!

It's making my mouth water and my tummy growl! And my mind just keeps saying "ugh!"

    How mean is this???

I just needed to vent and get a little encouragement.

How many carbs are there if I lick the pages??

      Re: Oh the torture!!

I planned a conference a few years back and encountered the same thing. All you need to do is talk to the chef at the hotel or restraurant and advise them that you have some special restrictions for yourself.

I chose the selections for the dinner and luncheon and then put in writing my special plate for those meals. There was NO problem. They obliged me and I ate on plan and still enjoyed the day without worry. When they came around with the dessert, I just passed on it. I had a wonderful time and didn't have to worry. Nobody noticed as they were all busy enjoying their own meals and the conference.

The good news is that you are in charge of the feeding. Make one option friendly.
Good Luck, I know it's hard but did we really expect this to be easy?

Paper is carb free, lick away! I recommend dairy queen advertisments and Wentworth Miller (hot prison break guy) pictures. I kid, stay strong and hopefully you can order yummy atkin friendly things like wings too?
