    Re: Appetite increase, anyone?

    Lol...but eating MORE instead of the typical LESS recommended by most diets is a bit hard to get used to. I went back and re-read the basics in the book and also went through the student board on the Atkins site. Yeesh...!

    Turns out I wasn't counting NET carbs, just carbs. So I have been eating a good deal below the 12-15 veggie net carbs we are supposed to on induction. Also, I haven't been keeping a daily log of my meals, assuming if I kept it to a palm sized portion I would know I'm not eating too much. Hmmm.. no more of that I guess! Time to stop being lazy and count my carbs and make sure I'm getting enough calories!

    I'm thinking I'm going to move onto the next step after another week of Induction, this time doing it by the book! Hopefully the energy will kick up!

    Thx!!

      What do you mean "NET CARBS"....I think I too am lost on that term
      and I just count carbs period. Please explain the difference.

      I too get to a point that I have no energy and should have and therefore
      I don't exercise.....I think I should be eating more but don't feel hungry
      because I have no energy!

        Net carbs are the total carbs minus fiber. This is only in North America. I'll give you a simple example off the back of a bag of ready to eat romaine lettuce.

        Serving size= 3 ounces or about 2 cups
        calories= 15
        Total carbohydrate= 3 grams
        fiber= 1 gram

        so you subtract the fiber and you come up with 2 net carbs.

        Sunny!
