    Hi gang,
    I am going on vacation in 25 days to Hawaii for 2 weeks. I am really concerned about hidden sugars ect... I am on the grain rung of OWL, and have lost 90 pounds. I need to lose at least another 90. I want to enjoy my vacation, and need some guidance. We will be hiking swimming, zip lining ect...lots of fun exercise activities. Just concerned about the food. I do plan on getting to the fruit rung before I go so I can enjoy a little of the fresh tropical fruits.

    wow!!! can I come? lucky thing. I am sure you will find lots of great things that are allowable . you could also move into the premaintenace or maintenace mode of Atkins while you are away to allow a bit of leeway and then move back to where you were before the holiday. I would not worry too much about losing while on holiday ... i would be aiming to maintain the weight i was at . Have A fun Time!

      First, congrats on losing 90 pounds! Second--how did you get to #9 grain rung BEFORE the #7 'other' fruit rung??? Grain is the very last rung.

        Sorry not grain, legumes, lentals ect.. I am not sure I will ever make it to grains

          I made it to grains for about two days, before I discovered that I will never be able to add them back in. On the positive side, I gotten rid of many problems that I never knew were caused by wheat--the most important my life-long asthma.

            Me too. The grain rung helped me discover I had celiac disease and can't have gluten [aka. wheat, barley, rye, most oats] ever again. Actually, I'm grateful for low carbing overall because not only did it show me its possible to eat great and lose weight, it also showed me that it is possible to eat without feeling sick all the time - something that at the time I couldn't remember ever being a reality.
