  • Slimming Belts?

Hello all I have an excercise question but I know that not as many people go over there so I am posting it here.

Yesterday I went to Academy and bought a slimming belt for my waist and one for each thigh. I put them on when I got home and preceded to do Burn it Up.

By the time I got to the knee pulls I could feel liquid splashing on my ankles! I looked down only to see rivers of water poring down my legs. I stopped working out and I changed into workout pants. When I was done with my squats I looked down and could see wet patches on my thighs above and below where the belts were. When I was done with the lunges my whole lower abdomen was soaking wet. Don't get me wrong I was sweating everywhere but in these spots it looked like someone had pored a glass of water on me. By the time I finished working out I was soaking wet.

I pulled off the belts and held them up and water was dripping on my excercise mat and floor! OMG, is this normal? I have never had one of these before but I always saw them on those spanish infomercials, thought it was total BS. But I swear I was wet as if I had gotten out of the shower without toweling off, gross I know!

Not really sure if this is sweat or just water or both. I read several reviews last night about this product and everyone said it helped them lose inches, but is it just the cells releasing water and shrinking or am I cutting into my calorie deficit.

Just wondering if any of you have tried using these belts before and seen any results. Also I closely monitor my calorie intake and output but don't know if I should consider this "wetness" calorie output. Any thoughts?

    Re: Slimming Belts?

You were producing a good sweat, and unlike the bare or lightly clothed areas of your bod, the areas covered by the belts could not evaporate - hence the dripping. You might temporarily lose inches via this method, but those inches will be replaced as soon as you eat or drink. It's kind of like sticking very small parts of your body in a sauna. Might feel good, but will not really give you any health or weight loss benefits.
