My goal weight is still considered healthy for my height. And I am not "obessing", if I was obsessing I wouldn't be doing this diet and would'nt be looking for intelligent advice, I would be starving myself!
When a person is not happy with their haircut nobody is saying to them "stop obessing, your haircut is healthy". As long as it's not damaging my health, im going to alterate my appearance the way I want.
And I know my body is not "resisting" because I was at a lower weight and felt fine until I had some personal issues w. family and put a lot of stress on myself and gained weight.
I hope you understnad I didn't come here to show off my BMI and let people tell me I am thin enough. I came here for lpvely support & advice of those who understand.
    I understand!!!! I'm 21 and i weight 118 pounds (54kg) and i'm 5'4.
I'm trying to get to 110.

No one here can know what the idea weight is for different people. I'm a tiny frame and i would like to be thinner. I have a flabby stomach that hangs over my jeans etc. I'm not fat (i was fatter, i lost 10kg last year) BUT i still want to lose the weight till i am happy.

You should lose what you want to lose so you are happy. This is about you feeling good about you, not about other people telling you what will make you feel good.

I am NOT SAYING THIS IS THE CASE: however, i have found a lot of people heavier than me in my life will criticise my goals etc becuase they are viewing me from the perspecitve of being heavier. People on this board seem to be saying a lot of simular things. It could be because they would kill for your weight (which is understandable!) or it could be because they dont know your proportions and dont know what looks good for you.

Its KILLING ME trying to lose the last few kg. I havnt lost a thing for months and im strict strict strict.

One of the main reasons i stay so strict is that im petrified of putting on weight by going off it.

    hang in there

Im really happy to find someone in a similiar situation as me! I honestly believe, it's human nature to constantly want more (actually, less in our case ) and move forward. If I was 220, 140 would seem like ideal & perfect weight, but If you know what 110 feels on your body, you would NOT want to stop.
I mean, Kudos to everyone who's losing a ton of weight, I am sure it's very hard. I admire people with such determination & willpower, but with obesity it's often the health that is the main issue. Obviously, we're on atkins for purely aesthetic reasons and there ain't nothing wrong with that

Bear in mind that muscle weighs quite a bit more than fat, to the point where very fit sports people frequently come in as being clinically obese if they simply plug their height and weight into a chart. That is why, when measuring their condition, competitive athletes don't go so much by weight measurement or by BMI - since the population stats on which these are based simply don't apply to them. Instead they measure percentage body fat - impractical for ordinary folk.

So aiming at a specific weight if you are also working on your fitness is completely pointless.

You are doing a lot of physical exercise, and eating a healthy amount of protein, so it is highly likely that you are losing fat and gaining (heavier) muscle and thus not seeing weight loss.

When you are nearer to your 'ideal' weight, this is even more likely to be the case. Where people who are very overweight exercise, the fat lost tends to, literally, outweigh the muscle gained so it is not so obvious on the scales. When there is less fat to lose, the increase in muscle density can easily balance the loss of fat resulting in no nett loss on the scales.

There comes a point where you have to rely not on weight but on measurements and even more on how you look, people easily get thinner and more toned AND simultaneously heavier while on a very intense fitness regime.

The alternative would be to abandon fitness, to let your muscles waste and become lighter, while still maintaining a strict watch on diet. Obviously not a healthy or a desirable option, though it might fool the scales.

Just to back that up - look at this guy:

According to charts, at 6 foot tall he should weigh between 143 - 188 lb - he doesn't, he weighs 251lb. He is obese acording to the charts and needs to lose around 80lbs for the good of his health!!

In reality, is he even overweight? Does he look unhealthy or unfit?

He is currently part of the Irish team playing at the Rugby World Cup, so I don't think he is either, but it is easy to see he is carrying that weight as muscle.

Re: Am I losing? Or just deluding myself?

Hey guys, just wanted to update this thread and let everyone know how im doing. Basically, what happened was sort of strange / miraculous and all i can say is BODY WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS. After being on a very strict induction for about three weeks, i decided, it's not working as I wish it did, so I eased up on exercise (maybe 30 minutes of running or dancing a day), ate as much protein and fat as I wanted, plus vegetables. I am SURE i went over 20 gr. of cabrs a day. The thing is, I started losing REALLY fast. I went to a really nice restaurant one day and had a plate of smoked salmon, a steak diane and two glasses of wine. And I woke up 3 pounds lighter! WTH, right? But I continued just eating that way (without alcohol) for two weeks and I lost 6 kilos! Which is more than 12 pounds! Afte that, I stalled a bit, did a Fat Fast for four days (and NO, I DON'T RECOMMEND IT usually), lost 4 more pounds, started liberate induction with more intensive exercie and in vitually 10 days I weighted less than my goal. I kept it for almost a year now, with minor fluctuations.

What I learnt from this is and things that helped me
            1) In dieting, sometimes logic doesn't work.
            2) Being relaxed and positive brings you closer to your goal than obsessing with every rules, being hard on yourself and stress out.
            3) If you want to it more meat or fish, do so and don't think it will harm you, again, a more easy-going attitude.
            4) Short, intense exercise intervals are better (for me) than long periods of moderate exercise. It's very important to get you heart beating fast and sweat.

Things I learned for how to keep at your goal weight, which worked for me:
            1) Base you diet on low-carb foods, especially the ones that have higherfat content (no chicken breasts)
            2) I didn't have much cravings, but if you absolutely must eat something sugary, have a moderate portion and try to eat something low-carb after it (something filling, so you don't want more). Like, if you eat, say, tiramisu with cream, have some tiramisu but try to fill up on the cream. I know it's weird, but ti worked for me.
            3) Get your hearbeat up every day for at least 30 minutes (running, dancing, sauna or hot sex )
