  • Length of weight loss plateau...?

Curious about what plateaus various people have hit and how they got past it.. .I lost a good deal of weight in the first month, about 5 lbs. a week, and then the last two weeks I have lost nothing... actually gained one lb. the week before last. When I gained the lb., I re-read the book and realized I wasn't eating enough veggie carbs so got more specific and now very carefully monitor my daily carb and calorie intake.

I have 20 net carbs a day and make sure that 12-15 are veggies, and I don't go over 2,000 calories a day or below 1,500. My energy came back and I don't feel hungry, but now while I'm not gaining anything, I am not losing either. Any ideas???

I had a month long stall. WHat broke it was moving up the rungs in OWL. I think you would benefit from it. Many people experience even more loss on OWL. Also, you, like me, only have about 20 lbs more to lose, please expect it to slow down. NOW, for me, I gauge my loss by the month instead of the week. You are doing great, just move on.

Dr. Atkins defined a weight loss plateau as 4 consecutive weeks without loss of pounds or inches. So if the scale isn't moving, but you dropped a jeans size, you're not in a weight loss plateau!
