  • If you had 6 weeks

    I know that this is a terrible way to approach a diet or a lifestyle change, but I am asking anyway.

    If you had 6 wks to get the absolute maximum results what would you do? I have been doing Atkins for 3 months now and have lost 10% of my body weight. I have recently broken through a 5 week stall (yipee and thanks to everyone here). There is an event coming up in 6 weeks that I would like to look the best I can for. Any advice? I haven't been exercising (so I'll give myself that advice), but what else would you do in my shoes? I would hate to have another 5 week stall--don't know if my tiny brain could take that.

    IMHO....... you have the answer............EXERCISE! Oh, and up the water!

      1) Water, water, water NOTHING but water.
      2) Weight Train--nothing will change body shape better than weight training. 3 days a week lifting weights and 3 days a week doing some sort of cardio--walking is just fine. Anything that will get your heart rate up and make you sweat.
      3) If you're in induction, move to RUNG 1 more veggies and increase weekly to get to the point that you are ingesting enough veggies so that you get 25-30 grams of fiber from those veggies daily.

      That's the best advice I can give you.

        cut out cream, sweetener and caffeine.

        Then you will lose quicker.

          Even if you don't lose weight, you will lose inches with exercise...it's a fact. And no matter what you're wearing, you'll look great.

            Lots of water, get the exercise and be proud out EVERY pound lost!!

            And smile. My Mom's biggest lesson to me was always to smile.
            No trees were killed in the creation of this post. However, many electrons were terribly inconvenienced.

              Cut out caffeine, sweetners, alcohol. Up the exercise and up the water plus plus. COLD water is helpful... it takes energy to warm the cold water up to body heat. That energy used, makes a surprising difference.

                Thanks everyone, you are all so sweet and helpful! I went for my first walk in response to your posts. It helps me to have a deadline for most things, I'm hoping this will help me keep up the exercise, water, and no more caffeine! Thanks so much.
