Personally I have a hard time putting faith in any of these charts that say what your "ideal weight" is supposed to be. I put them in the same catagory in my brain as the wankers who decide to make jean sizes smaller.
If some model on the runway weighs 120lbs at 5'10" and thats considered normal, I'll be setting a goal for myself that will NEVER be achievable unless I go starve myself, then i'll just get frustrated because my darn DOT hasnt moved the halfinch on the chart to where the allmighty god of bmi's says it should be.
I know all of us are shaped and built different with different bone sizes and body types, but if you can't recall -being- your target weight, how are you supposed to know when to be proud of yourself and when to be frustrated?
Last time I did atkins I lost 32 lbs and was down to 180lbs. I'm between 5'9 and 5'10.5 depending what convenient store i'm leaving (ok I TOTALLY stole that from ron white), but i'm weirdly built. one gene has seen fit to give me ample chest and hips, the other gene has made me weirdly tall and athletic (not that you could tell right now, but I played soccer for 10 years)
at 180 I was in a loose 14, and at the time felt I want to lose 15 more lbs, then see how I felt. right now i'd kill santa to get into 14s lol, but who's to say whats a healthy weight for who? i suppose its just a model to try to base it off, but I hate judging my progress on that damn little dot on fitday telling me i'm obese. how is this thing telling me i'm obese when I can't even shop in lane bryant because everything there is too -big-? Maybe its body fat, but how the heck does it know my body fat ratio? a guess?
Its all just annoying me right now.
