There is a whole industry built around getting toxins out of your body and it's a highly lucrative one. I believe that the reality is that your body has evolved perfectly to do this job all by itself once you are eating right, and largely even when you are not. And if you're not eating right the answer is just to eat right.

Most of the things they list as being helped by this stuff are things that will disappear on Atkins anyway. Take flatulence - I was definitely world championship standard at that before I started Atkins. I'm silent now.

I never read such nonsense as on that gross gallery page - some quotes:

"Prior to this program I would watch my carbohydrate intake but not any more. I figured I look skinny why not enjoy some carbs!"

Oh yeah! Great idea!

"This piece just looked like cancer. I am sure that if I had never discovered this program, I would have colon cancer before I turned 50."

Well that's just stupid! How can you say it "looked like cancer". I've had cancer! The medical people can't even confirm that by looking at something, it takes lab testing. And NO WAY can you just pass a cancer!!

I would not trust that site an inch. The have all these people with "Dr" in their names, none of whom are medical doctors - I know they don't say they are, but they are certainly not being coy about using that title where it's available but using a persons first name when they don't happen to have a PhD.

Maybe I am too cynical, but it reads to me like a big (and effective) marketing effort to sell something that's probably dirt cheap to make at a high price to people who want a quick fix.

A quick fix for what??

Well the way I look at it it cannot hurt. I've personally talked with doctors locally who say that a cleanse is a good idea. Heck it was even on Oprah that Dr. OZ said a cleanse is a good idea to jump start a diet but not to lose weight. He said a body does not become cleansed over night and the Colonix and Toxinout programs are at least two months worth of treatment.

I also look at it this way... People who do not have an open mind, little faith or knowledge say that the Atkins diet is unhealthy. but I happen to know it works. Before I started it I had hopes and the faith that if I started this diet and followed it to the letter I would lose weight. Guess what I'm now 20.5 lbs lighter. I'm going to apply the same belief to this product which I'm ordering tomorrow. I've done my research. I've read different comparison studys from the Consumer Reports. I've talked to doctors and people who have used it that are not in any way tied to this product. So everyone follow your own advice. If you think its a crock, don't use it. If you think it could help and do use it. let me know how it works, post your results don't be scared!

If anyone is interested I will post my experiences with it once I start to help everyone be better informed.

I did the colonix cleanse after over 3 months on antibiotics for advanced lymes. I had a major canidia problem after all those antibiotics. Now I didn't see any creepy crawlies like the site shows but it definately kicked the canidia. I even wrote a testimonial when I was done. I felt so good once I was canidia free. Yes the dr could kill of canidia but after 3 moths of pills and IV med combo I was sick to death of pills and dr's. Oh btw! I did not do 3 months.

Like I said.... this is not a quick fix, and not a weight loss magik remedy. This is a herbal supplement aimed on cleaning your colon and to get rid of buildups that we all ( yes... ALL) have during our lifetime. No matter how GOOD and healthy we ate its still there. Sure, we eat so much better now, but this buildup was accumulating over YEARS... during our lifetime.

Speaking about Colonix... they have a full list of herbals ingredients. Most of them are well-known products. My MIL was a certified herbalist, and I still have most of her books on natural herbal products... most of them been used for HUNDREDS OF YEARS. Most of them are available for sale online.. in Europe they sell them as extracts or tinctures everywhere, Rite Aids included.. not only in Good Food stores.

As always with herbal products, they act SLOW. Heck.. only a chemical PILL acts quick. So a month or two is a MUST.

I will post my results and my personal opinion as soon as I will see any outcome.
