  • Did you start over a few times before it finally stuck?

I know I love this diet. I know it works for me. I know I can and have lost alot of weight with it. I know how to follow it. Except I'll slowly let go, and have to start all over again. My husband and little brother went to Romania for three weeks, and I was so excited to start over again, yet I blew it. I was so lonely and bored I went right back to eating bad. So now, 8 lbs gained later I am starting again. Damn.

    So my question is this...

Did you get right into it and get to your goal? Or did it take a few trial runs to finally "get it".

I'm mad at myself, but also excited to make a fresh start. I wanted to look hot for when hubby came back, and now I only have 6 days until he comes back. Oh well, I'm sure I can lose a few pounds in that time. Darn.
I'm back for good this time. Slim Summer 09 here I come!

I have restarted so many times I have lost count. BUT THIS TIME IT STUCK. I don't know what or how but something just clicked. I finally realized that like a diabetic, I JUST CAN'T EAT some things and I've come to accept that. It's not sad anymore, it's joyous. I've found the solution to a lifelong problem.

Ahh you poor thing, keep your head up!! We all have gone through this I'm sure!!

I first did Atkins about a year before I started this time around. I only made it about two weeks and lost about 15 lbs but I think it just came down to the fact that I just wasn't ready. then I gained it all back and then some!

Ya know it's hard to tell yourself no and to tell other people no. It grows tiresom, but it's sooo worth it!! This time around there was no stopping me! I was READY! Even now, a year and a half later I'm still adjusting. But this is a life style change, not a diet or quick fix.

Take your time. When you're ready it'll happen. In the mean time do as best you can.
If you're feeling it, then start today. Follow the book, step by step it'll work. Beat those cravings and if you can't then make a substitute! Drink your water and every time you feel like you're about to cave come on here or go for a walk... do anything. It'll get easier and easier, I promise!!

Thanks ladies. You two are both very inspirational! I am so feeling it today, I want to start, but a week ago my Grandma invited me over and asked me if I wanted her to make her famous chinese food and I said yes. So tonight is that dinner. I'll make the best of it, and try to eat little to none of the rice, if I can get thAt past her eagle eyes. If not, tomorrow is day 1, and hopefully the last day 1 ever. I have all the groceries I need, and a roast in the crockpot. There is no excuse!

You'll do great, you just have to do it!!

yeah I remember when I was younger and doing the Susan Powter thing... lol well my grandma who was an old firm in her ways southern woman would threaten to beat me with a paddle if I didn't eat! lol. She'd make some GOOOD southern cooking that was sooo not good for you but I'd always blow my diet to keep her happy. I'd eat her Fried chicken, fried okra, fried green tomatoes, buscuits and gravy and plain white bread with butter and sugar on top... oh and corn bread for days!! mmmMmmm good eatin'!

Anyway, got a little off track there! lol.

Start tomorrow, you'll be soooosososoo happy you did! lol.

Thanks! You made me giggle and I needed that. I rarely get to go for dinner at my Grandma's so I know she'll be tickled pink to cook for me. As long as she doesn't keep plying me with alcoholic beverages I should be fine!
I am SOOOOO excited to start again tomorrow. Your'e so right, I'll be glad I did!
