  • Need Encouragement. Feeling icky and missing my exercise

I've been sick for the last two days and am missing out on my exercise. I feel like I'm getting off track and hate it. just wish I felt better and could exercise. Its irritating. I should be going for my walk today but I slept in until 9:00 a.m. which is about 3 hours after I usually get up. I also had to lay down yesterday and take a nap for about 3 hours and I feel like I could go back to bed and it's only 10:44. Just feeling bummed out. My husband is a truck driver and hasn't been home since the 15th. Its hard. I feel like a single mom with two kids.

Oh, you poor thang, I feel for you! Just hang in there and do what your body needs to recover strength and health.

The most powerful thing I've learned about exercise this time around is that rest days are as important as workout days. We have to listen to our bodies and follow our bodies' orders. During rest periods, our body is recharging, building that lean muscle mass, and gaining strength.

I had to miss about 10 days of workouts after surgery in August, and when I restarted, there was no difference in my strength or endurance. This was true for weight training and cardio. I also have missed several days in a row due to scheduling conflicts since then, and again, not only no loss of strength or endurance, but in one case, I was suddenly able to do MORE than before!

    Take care of yourself.
    Start date: 7/29/2007

    Scale: SW:235 CW:193
    GW:150

Tape Measure: I've lost 42.5 inches as of 3/15/2008

    Mini goals:
    215 - met 9/10/07
    205 - met 10/17/07
    195 - met 2/20/08
    180

    I survived a two-month stall!

thank you so much for your encouragement. It was exactly what I needed to hear. I felt like I was going to slide backwards and I so do not want to. Thanks again
