I think I overdid it today

I've been sick since saturday but today felt a bit better so I went for my usually M/W/F power walk/jog and when I got back from getting the kids I mowed the back yard and picked up doggie do. ( I know T.M.I.) Now I'm feeling a little bit of vertigo. Think I overdid it a little today, I'm pretty tired. That and I don't think I ate enough carbs. Thinking of going and having 1/2 c. of frozen blueberries.

My friends always tell me I do too much work but seriously, my husband is a truck driver and is only home for one day on the weekends. If no one else is going to do it I have to. And Just because I'm sick doesn't mean I dont have to do the work. It still needs to be done. I just hope I don't pay for it later. Guess I'll just go to bed early.

    thanks everyone for the support!

A good nights sleep should help matters and the blueberries sound a great idea

When you are sick you need to listen to your body and take it easy! It would not be good if you keeled over mowing the lawn! ( you are more important than the lawn!)
HOpe you are feeling much better now!

Do NOT eat the blueberries - not if you're on induction. The only thing you'll do with that is cause an insulin spike that has potential to make you feel worse yet - AND it's not induction friendly.

If you're feeling shaky and yucky, eat something with a good amount of fat as well as a small salad or some veggies to make up your carb allottment for the day. Balance it out - and get a good nights sleep. Sounds like you could use it!

not on induction... although I rarely get above the 20 net carbs a day I'm not on the induction. I've been on this "diet" for a month.

I always eat tomatoes if I feel crappy. I tend to eat more veggies with high carb content and more of them. Carrots and onions in a big salad for one meal with a tofu dressing (silken tofu put in a processor with lemon, vinegar, salt, pepper, etc). The higher your energy level, the more carbs your going to need. Nuts are a good way to reintroduce carbs to see what happens. You can try to up your daily carbs to to 40-60 grams a day and see what happens. Try it for a week or two. You might gain a little water back but I doubt your going to gain any fat. Generally, active people can eat around 100 grams of carbs a day and still maintain ketosis. Especially if those carbs are locked up in non-refined foods like nuts and veggies and low-glycemic fruits.

              Hope that helps a little!

Where on OWL are you? Blueberries would be allowed once you reach the 4th rung/level.
Wondering how to get 'most' of your net carbs from your induction veggies?
Take a look at the thread from the latest Veggie Challenge to see how others manage it!

I was thinking the same thing... Induction lasts 2 weeks, and we should spend a minimum of a week on each rung... so I'm not sure how it is possibe to be to rung 4 after only a month.
