  • Wedding Day in 3 weeks..

    Hey everyone

My wedding is October 20th.. so less than 3 weeks away... Now, I need a little advice... I have just finished 2 weeks of INduction- cheat free!!! Down 12 lbs... feel so good

However... what do I do on wedding day? Do I have a little piece of my wedding cake... do I eat some of the chicken parmesan...? I'm thinking I'll just try and fill up on the salad bar... have some chicken.. and maybe a bite or two of my cake?

I don't want to blow it... any suggestions? THANKS!

Looking forward to meeting the "new" me ....
(I'm going to get there by following this new way of eating.... Making changes for the better!)

This may not be the popular answer... but.... Call your venue and find out what it will cost to get an Atkins friendly plate for the Bride.. Then eat that meal and take the bite of your cake from your hubby...

Let's face it you're not going to get married again anytime soon... Just know ahead of time that tomorrow you are going to go back on induction for several days to get the sugar out of your system.. Just don't eat a lot of cake... It could make you sick.. Just eat a bite or two and move on. NO ONE is going to notice that you didn't eat an entire piece.. They will notice if you don't accept a bite at the cake cutting..

Have fun and try not to loose any weight after your final fitting... you don't want to pay for emergency last minute alterations...

First...congratulations! ...and I hope you're not stressing too much!

Honestly when the day comes, you won't be thinking about food much at all, and you probably won't eat much of it! I was so filled with excitement that I hardly touched much. I had (now, mind you this was 3+ years ago pre-Atkins) my traditional bite of cake from my groom but never did eat anymore.

I wouldn't worry about your wedding day, and being overly mindful of staying on plan. What I would worry about is making sure you eat leading up to the ceremony, and like pp said, not too much sugar or you may endup not feeling well for later...if ya know what I mean!

Then when the day has passed, get right back on track. Don't use your honeymoon or the "wedding day is done" as an excuse to go crazy.

      Good luck!

Yup... My wedding cake was my down fall... Send left over home with everyone else.. don't keep it. I pigged out on it and now two years and 25 pounds later I'm back on Atkins and this time I'm going to do it right...

Learn from my mistake.. take this one bite and let it go... Walk away!!!

Make sure you have alot of legal stuff around you all day, not just at the dinner. My biggest mistake on my wedding day? I was so wound up I didn't eat at all up to the dinner..too many people pulling me here and there, for pics etc...but did have the 2 or 3 glasses of wine that were handed to me...i was a bit tipsy to say the least! LOL. Still had a fabulous time and did finally eat my dinner, but wish i'd had a little more food in by belly to soak up that wine before then!

i was on WW not atkins at the time so the cake was not a big issue for me..but I'd say you should have your bite of your cake, it's your wedding day..then enjoy the rest of your night and pick up where you left off.

And Catblue, I love the fur stole!!!!!
